Fox demands that the United States declare a complete amnesty for all illegals, thus al- lowing them full U.S. citizenship. To force the issue, Fox's government has begun issuing ID cards to Mexican illegals in the United States--ID cards called by the Spanish name, "matricula consular." The matricula consular looks like a California driver's license and costs the holder $29. It gives the impression of an official guarantee that the holder is who it says he is and that the address listed is correct. There is no truth to that. Yet, now 13 states are accepting the matricula consular for the purpose of issuing a driver's li- cense to outlaw aliens. Once a legitimate U.S driver's license is in hand, the outlaws have the entire American system opened to them. Now, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and 74 other banks accept the card in order to open bank accounts. At least 800 police depart- ments in cities across the nation accept the card as valid ID.

The Mexican government intends to flood the nation with the cards, thus creating an un- stoppable situation, forcing the Congress to grant the amnesty to cure a hopeless situa- tion. So successful has the matricula consular been for Mexican outlaws that Guatemala, Poland, Haiti, and Nicaragua plan to issue similar cards to their citizens now illegally in the United States. Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy have already prepared the legisla- tion to oblige the Fox government. S. 2444 would allow the President to grant amnesties to millions of outlaw aliens via trade agreements or executive order.

Banks accept them. California per se does not. In fact our drivers licenses are relatively secure barring fraud at the licensing agency. However, airlines and airports now require a 'governmental id' and since you don't need to provide any secure ID at all to get these cards, this is circumventing that security provision.

Someone on Capital Hill was calling for legislation to require banks and airlines not to accept these, but I don't know if it went anywhere.

Recently an eastern state lost a suit to a Families of 9/11 group that meant the state could not allow drivers' licenses for illegal immigrants pending the REAL ID requirements ( which I think goes into effect January of 2008). It SHOULD be applicable precedent accross the nation, since it is a federal issue, however, I haven't seen it applied that way.

This is a huge hole in our national security.

And what you say is yet another reason to vote against Clinton and Kennedy, of course......

I always thought the matricula consular was a form of Id.Something that identifies the person as being whom they say they are and having that person's fingerprints on the back.Though its true some banks accept them they do it because they want those peoples' business and money, just like the car dealers and the rest of the businesses do it.And its not only for mexicans there is also a form of matricula for other latin american countries. So don't go blaming fox blame the greedy business owners who want illegals to do business with them.I have even seen it in many banks in big bold letters stating "Matriculas accepted here, open your bank account today,si se habla espanol".go figure

Fox isn't the president of Mexico anymore, so he can keep 'demanding' and not getting! LOL And, if the new guy starts 'demanding' stuff, he can go take a walk, too, and start building the industry and infrastructure in HIS country that'll support his citizens.

This is great information, with a few errors. It is not a blanket door for all American services. The first answer has given you the correct answer, as it is merely an ID card, similar to what is issued by our governing agencies, when people do not drive, they are given an ID for the purposes of banking, etc.

its a ID card issued by the Mexican consulate. It is accepted as a government ID. It has nothing to do with Vicente Fox. Some insurance companies are accepting them as a form of ID...allowing illegal immigrants to get car insurance...I think it is wonderful.
