She has always had human food when we eat and was never a problem. I gave her some potato chips maybe like 8 and one piece of Chicken Alfredo Hot pocket. I know dogs should not eat human food but that cute begging face of hers gets me to give in. She is use to me feeding her all the time. Lastnight was non stop vomit. She never vomits when given human food. She couldnt hold down her water but she held her Alpo canned food. She is lethargic today and very thirsty. She has so far held her water down. I will do my best not to give in to her begging for now on. She really scared/worried me all night. Today she is still ill looking, lying around, not getting excited. I can see it in her eyes... any suggestions/help...please......

thank you for all your help. I can start off by saying she is not plump, vet has told us she is a Perfect" weight.
Since my messege she has drank and kept down water, a little food, and is doing "some" of her normal, naughty at times self. She has not voimited now in 20 hours. Just wanted to update everyone

another update. We have been keeping her as still as we can. She's coming to us with her football in her mouth, then doing her usual playful backup, shakes her head and looks for us to chase her with the ball, needless to say we don't.
Lipsticklobotomy......I hope your posting was an attempt at some kind of humor? Because I cannot believe that a person can actually be that simple in mind that it would befuddle a village idiot. I have had German Sheperds all my life, and come from a loonnnggg line of police officers in the family, and K-9 units. So again, I am thinking you were joking.....cause if you're not, I can only feel sorry for the dog you have. I picture the part in a Ren and Stimpy episode were they are going door to door when the old guy answering the door has a horse in the house that whispers to them "pleeeaase help, get me outta here" I could picture your dog doing this ..

Well already know people food is no good for your pet at any age nor matter how cute the begging face is. You are the owner so be the owner in control, right now she controls you. I work in a vet clinic and in this case we would recommend you do not feed "anything" for 24 hours. Then feed 3 quarters rice with 1 quarter DOG FOOD. This should help out and if she is not better have her check out by your vet. Water is ok but not alot limit it as it may cause her to throw up. After trying to vomit, she is tierd so it is no wonder she is lethargic, let her rest and a keep her still for at least 24 hours.
Human food can and does cause diabeties in animals so keep that in mind next time she begs with that cute face.

When I read your message, the very first thing that came to mind was Pancreatitis. Your dog meets every criteria. She's and older female who's had a high fat diet. I bet she's a bit on the plump side too.
Pancreatitis is very common in dogs fed a high fat diet and people food is a killer. (dispite what some ill advised people will tell you) Today, most dogs do not pull sleds and herd sheep and expend great amounts of energy. They are couch potatoes and they do not need a lot of fat.
I always hear this story...when I lived on the farm, my grandma used to toss all the trimmed fat, biscuits, gravy and cornbread to our dogs and they all lived to a ripe old age!
No people food. Here is a link to read about pancreatis.

Take her to the vet. My Basset Hound did that and I was up all night with him, when the vet checked him I thought sure I killed him by giving him ribs the night before, but it turned out it was his poop bag jammed up and he had to physically relieve him. The vet told me in 9 out of 10 instances it's ok to give pets table food but if I saw the 10th dog I would never do so again. It could also be her stomach has turned inside out on itself, that was what my vet first thought of when I called him because of the white froth.

Not really sure what you mean by frothy. My dogs throw up a flem type of stuff when they are having sinus or allergy type problems.
The frothy thing and drinking lots of water makes me worry about her possibly having somehow gotten into something poison. Definitely take her to the vet ASAP!!!! At least call one and get their opinion.
