HI! Jesus as a infant was like any other child. He was a real person even if you don't believe in God, you can't deny he lived; Herod's men were not going to stables by inns to kill the first born and did not know about Jesus until he started preaching and saying he was the son of the only true God . Now that would make sense? even though Herod had been told of a baby being born that would be the king of Jews. Herod thought that the killing of first born solved that problem.

Because of the multiple phrophesies made about him in the new testament. There is one in Genisis 3:15
"And I will put emnity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers, he will crush your head and you will strike his heel."
this is a prophesy about when jesus was crucified on the cross which was the serpent (or devil in form) striking the heel of Jesus. It was through Jesus's resurection that he defeated death and the whishes of the devil, crushing his head, giving him a serious blow that would hurt for years to come as Christianity began to spread and men's souls were saved and brought to God.
Jesus also said as he was alive that we are to be like children. If we are to be like children, blameless and as relying on the Lord as a young babe, then why would he as a child be carrying all of the sins of the world?
There was also the sign of the Jonah. Like Jonah who spent three days and night in the belly of the great fish (it wasn't a whale!) Jesus would enter a tomb and stay there for three days and nights then be risen from the dead like how Jonah was spit out and continued with great fervor with the Work that God had planned for him.
Also he would not have died as a child because it was prophesied (Can not find the scripture sorry, I'll keep looking) that he was to come out of egypt. He did that after Herod died and it was safe to go back into Isreal.
How else would he have been able to experiance what life is for us here on earth if he died as a young child?
There are so many more prophesies about Jesus that it would take a long amount of time to read and study them. But also think about this...Was it God's will for Jesus to die at a young age barely a child, or for him to grow to an older age, spread the Good news and die for our sins? God has a plan for everyone on the earth, he wrote it out before the foundations of the earth were created. (Eph 2) Infact Jesus asked taht God's will be done as he was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. So, the answer to you question is this, Jesus could have easily died at an earlier time, not only during the time when Herod was searching for him but the phareses as well, and had sent other prophets, but it was not God's will and intentions. It wasn't his choice. It was God's.

Had Harod killed Jesus when He was a baby the world would have never known him.
People have to know Jesus and that He died on the cross for the sin of the world so that all who believe in Him, confess their sin and repent can have eternal life with Him in Heaven.

Because No one would have followed Him. According to the Old Testament, Jesus had live a sinless life and have many followers before He gave up His life as a sacrifice for our sins. If Herod had killed Him, He would not have been able to die for our sins, thus not being the Messiah. It would also mean that He could not have followed the other prophecies about Messiah. But because He lived, lived a sinless life, died in the most lurid way at the time, and rose again 3 days later, He is the Messiah to those who truly know the prophecies.

Jesus became into an apocolyptic preacher.... dozens of them the two in the previous him and after him in the middle East. All had followings, many times of the very poorest in the section. Google: "apocolyptic preachers in the Roman Empire" or some thing comparable.. Jesus became into murdered as a hardship-loose criminal by making use of Rome. bear in techniques, there have been no trials, there have been no civil rights, few ought to study, even fewer ought to write. He became right into a thorn in the part of Rome for the time of pageant time. not greater, no much less. Jesus wrote no longer something. He became into illiterate as have been ninety% of the human beings who lived whilst he did. And no individual who knew him wrote something approximately him the two. all of the flaws you study in the Bible have been all written actual 50 years after he became into lifeless, from oral history. as regards to the Gospel in accordance to John, 80 years. no individual who attended to his physique, wrote something. in case you study the 4 gospels in parallel, rather than one after the different, you will see how distinctive they each are. You, sir, are in l. a. l. a. land. The historic Jesus did certainly exist, however the Jesus circulate he started isn't something in any respect what Christianity is in the present day. discover some actual buddies.....

Why not? First of all, Jesus had to be baptized by John the Baptist as that was to fulfill all righteousness. Jesus' mission was not simply to die for our sins, He also was to "turn the hearts of the people back to GOD", to live a sinless life, to show the people how GOD wanted them to live and love, and He needed to help fulfill various prophecies; that is why He couldn't simply "allow for Herod to kill him as an infant".

because all the prophesies in the old testament then would not have been fulfilled and also Jesus had to preform miracles and become known to a lot of ppl. if he had been killed as a babe the new testament wouldn't have been written and all the millions of ppl that have have accepted him as savior (including me) and are now going to heaven would be in everlasting torment in hell. and also the bible says in john 3:16 for God so loved the world that He sent his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. no one would be able to belive in him because no one would know about him! if u haven't accepted Christ as your personal savior do it now you never know when u r going to die and GOD wants everyone to be with Him, but he gave us a choice, accept what Jesus did for us or reject him and go to hell for ever. for everybody reading this please read the Bible and see what God did for everyone

Because the murder of an infant would have proved nothing. he would have just been another dead baby what made Jesus special was the miracles that he preformed as a man and the teachings of love and tolerance. Every religion needs a figure head and Jesus is that figure head for Christianity.

dude its a deep question but heres my take, its because jesus sees in his future that mel gibson will make a good movie out of it and if he let king harods men kill him when he was an infant it will become just a forgotten cold case
so go figure.

If Christ died as a baby, he would not have fulfilled the role set out for him. he was to set the matter straight that a perfect man could serve Jehovah faithfully out of free will, just as the first perfect man disobeyed God out of free will. He also needed to become the Messiah, which did not happen until he was baptized at the age of 30. His death was not just a symbol of something, but it was also a legal exchange for something lost, hence the term, "ransom sacrifice."
