Saddam would not tolerate them. He and Ben laden did not like each other at all they were enemys. Thanks to Bush Iraq is now open to any one who wants to kill or hurt especially if they want to hurt or kill Americans.

There was no terrorists in Iraq under Saddam because he hated competition. The vast majority of terrorist groups were and are fundamentalist( read up on Wahabi'ism) and hated the secular state that was Hussein's pride and joy. Hussein was hated by all the other surrounding states except for being grudgenly dealt with by Jordan. But then Jordan wasn't a supporter of fundamentalism, has strong ties to the west and has no oil. They needed Iraq. Iraq and Iran had just finished a eight year war so anything coming from there really wasn't appreciated. Iraq could not tolerate terrorists and certainly had the means and will to get rid of any who show up. Under Saddam the government used police work, torture and the military to eliminate terrorists. They did a good job.

Since I know there isn't a chance you'll pick me for best answer it's safe to say.. You're an idiot.

In 1958 when Saddam was a lowly LT in the Baath party when the took over the country and he killed the presidents daughters was the beginning of terror in Iraq. It continued when they gassed the Kurds and did that little thing in the early 90s - invading Kuwait and all.

It continued through the 90s with his sons terrorizing the country.

But thanks...

Thanks for using your right to say all the stupid crap you want and giving all of these wonderful people the opportunity support the troops (all of us). We'll continue to stand up for your right to do so - god bless the troops you mentioned - may they rest in peace - because they sure as hell don't need help from you.

Again - you're an idiot.

Easy, easy calm down your working yourself up here, look when Saddam was in power there were terrorists, where do you think all of our happy little suicide bombers came from. The thing is since 9/11 we've been more aware of them. It's kinda like this, you don't notice the neighbor's dog until he bites someone.
Oh and by the way, Bush isn't doing as well as he should but he's better than what we could have had, I have a very close friend and three relatives in the military, and they'll tell you that they would rather have Bush in the chair he is than Kerry.
Give it time, stuff like this doesn't end over night.

Are you serious, you actually think the terrorist didn't come out until Saddam was gone!! Read your history books and look at everything that has been going on there for a long time! We have accomplished alot over there, the media just doesn't talk about it they tend to reflect on the negitive. (From a Proud Army Wife whose Husband is happily in Iraq on his 3rd tour)

Because when saddam was in power the terrorists were called the Iraqi military and they spent their time terrorizing the innocent Iraqi people who had the nerve to speak out against saddam.

You are correct. Saddam despised Al Qaeda and saw them as a threat to his regime. He would have never allowed them to operate they way they did in Afghanistan, or they way they are now in his country. Saddam was a bad guy, yes, but the consequences of overthrowing his government and allowing a Shite theocracy to take its place will create a far greater danger to the US than Saddam ever could have.

Maybe it's because Saddam was a terrorist. Obviously you haven't read anything about the thousands of people who were killed in Iraq during Saddam's reign.

What happened to your compassion for the dead when it came to thousands of Iranians killed by American made chemical weapons used by the "Armies of Saddam?"
Remember those pictures of Donald R. warmly shaking Saddam's hand. Well that was the kiss of death for thousands of Iranian kids. Any wonder the Iranian's don't count Amercia among their friends, or do they not have the same rights as other human beings.
What would Jesus say? Would he wash his hands of it?

If you cannot support the people that are over there fighting to keep OUR COUNTRY safe, move to Iraq and become one of them, because in my eyes, if you don't support the fact that I and my other peers are fighting to keep you safe and be able to sleep at night not worrying that someone is going to bomb us, then you are like them, a NO GOOD terrorist!!!

That's right he was the top terrorist! He killed all the other ones, no trial.

By the way it is a volunteer army. When you go to war, whether you agree with it or not, it's called doing your job.
