I like this girl who I've known since I can remember. She really seems to like/ love me. We have a lot in common and like the same things. She's quite attractive but I just don't think I fancy her is a sexual way. Maybe its because she's only 1/2 and inch shorter than me, and I prefer shorter???

I'm 19 at university, and she's in 6th form living with her parents about 150miles away (who are familly friends). She has probably never had a boyfriend, and I'm worried that things could get messy and embarrasing if it turns out that I want to end it after going out etc.

Help!! Maybe if I went out with her, I'd become more attracted to her??

Maybe if you could see her in some non-dating sort of environment, such as a club or family event, you could get to know how you two fit together without the assumption being that this is turning into a romance. But you and I both know that the height issue is trivial compared to character, intelligence, and other more significant factors. So play it cautious if you don't want to hurt her, but do spend enough time in her company to get to know her, and for her to get to know you.

Err, your 19, at University, and this girl lives 150 miles away.

You have not said anything particularly nice about her, apart from that you have a lot in common - well thats great...to be just mates!

You obviously do not fancy her and would probably end up breaking her heart...stay friends with her and enjoy all the loose women/girls your going to meet at uni!

A date isn't a relationship. Just because you think you don't want her because of her height, there could be more to her than what you see. Try taking her out as a friend and see if there is something there. You never know unless you try.

And one more thing, you don't have to break up with a friend.

I've liked the same girl for about hmmmm six years......
We were just freinds for a very long time and I finally asked her out. We'll to make a long story short things worked out. I'm postive if you keep your head that's on your shoulders working and you don't try to crawl into a bed with her immediatly then you should be okay.

If the tingle factor isn't there then its unlikely it will appear save yourselves the hassle and her the heart break.
Who knows a few years down the line feelings may change but for now have some fun at Uni that's what its for!

hi the problem is that you are asking the wrong people. be honest and talk to her about how you feel and ask her how she feels. you can be honest without being harsh about the sexual attraction thing too. that could be because like you said you have know her for a long time.

If you dont like her in a sexual way, Id forget about her.

You have to find your mate attractive in everyway, to love and cherish them for the rest of your life.

Now if you arnt looking for THE ONE, then go out with her, have fun. Enjoy!

If you really wanted to be with her..you wouldn't be asking this question...why should it matter if she's not your ideal size...so what if she's only 1/2 inch shorter than you...
Be with her if she makes u happy

You have nothing to loose by asking her out and if something happens then great! You might find that you really like her. You should be flattered that she likes you anyway.
I'd say go for it, there is nothing worse than liking back and regretting things, trust me!
