Why are there so many racist people on Yahoo Answers. Don't they have anything better to do then spread hate?

They're not just on Yahoo Answers.....they're in every aspect of society. For some reason they feel they are right and justified in their "cause", but they really have no place in modern society. The only race that should be recognized anymore is the Human Race. We are all equal and deserve the same human freedoms and respect as anybody else.

I'm not for racism but I have to say that they do have their rights (freedom of speech). Although they do abuse it, sometimes freedom of speech can't be withheld. Many racists are racist either because of a stupid reason (such as 9/11), or they were born to hate against certain people. Back then in the 60's, why did white people discriminate the blacks, they weren't born hating them, it was because of their parents, and their parents before them and so on.

There's also religion, and other racists to spread hate. They say false and/or misconstrued things to get others to follow them. Not saying religion spreads the racism, but the people citing religious work can be.

Just leave them alone, the more you ignore a racist (especially in real life), the less incentive they have of trying to catch your attention. And if they DON'T leave you alone, spit a comment back at them. May seem mean and sinking low, but it's not as low if you don't make it a racial comment. =).

I think people are racist because they are insecure. It makes them feel better somehow about themselves by pointing out what they believe to be faults in others. Having such a large audience as they will perceive they have on a forum such as this would provide them with the perfect opportunity to give themselves a boost. Unfortunatley I don't know many racist people with an abudance of friends and so they might really not have anything better to do then spread hate...

Racist people spread hate where ever they go. They love getting a rise out of other people. The more reaction they get the more fun they have and the more people join in.

I don't like it any more than you do. I think ALL racists are dumb on a certain level that has no explanation. But you also have to consider this wonderful thing known as Free Speech. You also have the CHOICE of just ignoring them. Don't feed into their hate by answering their questions or insulting them. That only feeds their fire.

I'm a racist. I dislike the human race. Just think how nice the Earth would be without the people.

I didn't think there are that many?. Also i would like to point out to person who said "i think they are from other countries like the UK". That in itself is a racist comment.

Racism is quite a strong word for opinion. peoples perception seem to alter with skin color. A white African farmer burnt out of his home and his worker left to stave by a corrupt government would probably feel your right. Black Africans are all racist. According to your view! What do you think? further to the first answer ask the people in the deep south how they feel about Black.

The second world war was the first time the black Americans felt equal according to them whislt in the Uk and demanded better rights in the US after the war.

Because it's the way people are in the real world, but don't let people know in public. It's a downside to the net's anonymity.

I doubt they see what they're doing as spreading hate. But no, they probably don't have anything better to do. Kinda sad, don't you think?
