It's a pre-World War II Smith & Wesson 38 special, police issue. Any info...websites, whatever, would be much appreciated!

This site will have everything. I've given you the address to the prewar S&Ws listed by model. It offers photos and values.

***One of the guns with your info is a rarity. But it was a military issue. See the top 1/3 of the page above. ($7500) Worth looking into.

Don't know about any tustworth websites, and I would not trust your local insureance agent to give a fair appraisal. There is a large book that I found at Wal-Mart of all places that publishes a new version every year with up-dated prices on any and all types of guns. That may be a start. Otherwise, call a professional or find an auctioner that specializes in guns.

They made zillions of those. It ain't worth much. Other than that go to a bookstore and buy the Blue Book of Gun Values.

I'd google, looking for websites. But I think a gun show is your best bet. All those experts under one roof.

Nice find. I wouldn't sell it if I were you. You need to get more info on it. Where it was made and such. You need to finda gun collector or expert.

you'll probably have to find a reputable gun smith, gun exchange with collector's section, and probably any antique appraiser can help you out....

do a google search with specifics, or see how much a pawn shop would offer for it. Or antiques roadshow.
