Scabies in animals is called as 'mange'. Animal scabies can be transmitted to man when he is holding the infected animal against his body. There is very severe itching in this condition.... treatment lies in treating the infected animal.

Mange is a skin condition often contracted by dogs. My dad had a home remedy that worked. Used motor oil was used to rub on the affected areas...it worked...although the animals had to stay outside with their oily skin!
