Too dangerous, especially if there are children or pets around. Just spring for the full size and purchase the dcon if you must. Or you could buy a have-a-heart trap and then take them away...

antifreeze works! A trap is better, take a 55gal. drum with two inches of water in it , lean a wooden plank up to the rim and tie some kind of bait over the middle of the opening. When the rat walks up the plank he leaps to the bait falls into the drum and the water keeps him from jumping out.

No. They make poisen cubes- they really work! The rat comes up, chews on it walks away and BOOM is dead within 5 minutes!! For like 200 cubes it is like $5.00 at Wal-Mart
