ummm i love doing this, plus you can modify the recipe by adding more spices, lilke make it spicy by adding chyenne or chipotle powder or even smalled chopped spicy sausage as well. Plus the gravy get it from the store already made they come in jars now, and are cheap (you can add some freash rosemary or whatever herb you want). And serve it with baked potatoes...or after you bake it cut it into long quarters and fry it (so that it can be almost like twice cooked potatoes -maika)

Could make a stew..

Cut the potatoes into smallish chunks and boil untill they fall off your knife when you stab them

Fry off the mince in a non stick pan - dont add oil, you wont need it.

Drain off any fat

Chop the onions and add to the mince fry for a few seconds, season to taste.

Put the part cooked potatoes in an oven proof dish and top with the mince mixture

Chop the mushrooms into quarters and add to the dish

Pour over some beef gravey and cook untill the mushrooms are cooked. 5 -10 mins

nice with crusty bread and butter

I would agree. A nice cottage pie. Take the mince and cook it with the onions and mushrooms in it. Add a little oxo or bisto if you have it, or just some gravy mix. Throw it in the oven and make some mashed potatoes to throw on top. Bake everything together. Mmmmm...You could always make the same thing, just slice the potatoes really well and fold them into the mix, bake that for an easy stew.

Chop up the mushrooms, potatoes and onions and fry them together. Brown the mince and then mx everything in a large frying pan. Be warned: i have just made this recipe up so it has the potential for disaster (but im sure it will taste nice in the end!).

Burgers and chips.

Chop up the spuds into chunks, put them in an oven-proof dish (spread out) with a little olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper and cook them in the oven (medium heat, say gas mark 6/7) for about 45 minutes.

Once they're in the oven, mix the mince and onion with salt and pepper, dried herbs (or fresh if you have them), cumin and some dried chilli (again, if you've got these, they're not essential). It's a bit grim getting raw meat up your nails but stick with it ...

Mould these into burger shapes and fry them off so they're brown on the outside. Then, stick them in the oven (covered with foil so they don't dry out) for the remainder of the potatoes' cooking time.

With about 5-10 minutes to go before the burgers and chips are both done, fry up the mushrooms in your burger pan and serve them on top of the burger.

Depending on which mince either a cottage pie (beef) or shepherds pie (lamb). Also just try chucking it in a pan with some herbs and some stock and seeing what comes out. The best way to find out what goes is to experiment, if you don't like it then try something different next time.
