You may love dogs, but I wouldn't call a lot of people that love dogs dog lovers. If that makes any sense to you people out there. It will to those who work at rescues. If you are a dog lover, you don't care what type of dog you have and you don't care how old it is when u get it.
I don't know what breed my dog is. She is a cross breed. But she has more than two breeds in her. She lived in Sri Lanka and survived the Tsunami. She lived under a bridge, and was plastered with mange. She didn't have a single hair on her body.
Home And Abroad Animal Welfare rescued her, and someone I know paid for her to come back to Guernsey. I adopted her, and am so pleased I did. She is more loving than a pedigree ever will be.
DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE.

I have a German Shepherd and a Blue Dobie. I would love to have a Neapolitan Mastiff.
Will some of you please get off of your high horse about purebreds. Both of my dogs are from rescue. Just because someone doesn't own a mutt doesn't mean they believe in irresponsibly breeding.
Some rescue groups at least where I'm at have unreasonable requirements to adopt. I applied to adopt a Neapolitan Mastiff before I got my Dobie. I wanted a puppy because I needed to ensure she would get along with my cats. To adopt a puppy younger than 6 months I couldn't be out of the house for more than two hours a day! To adopt any dog I couldn't be gone for more than nine hours a day. Hello....I work and have a life! Oh and the adoption fee was $800-$1000!!

I am the proud owner of 2 muts. One is part lab from the dog pound and the other is a german shepherd mix from a no-kill shelter. I would love to get a third dog someday when my broken heart is ready. Last spring my beloved Crystal died from cancer. She was a Bichon from the rescue group: smallpawsrescue. I would like to share my home with another rescued bichon. I have allergy problems with the 2 larger dogs and the bichon does not bother me as much. They have poodle hair and were bred to be lap dogs. I would never get one though from a breeder when there are so many rescue dogs needing homes.
