Tap water is fine. Is it pure? no. But being exposed to some bacterias is good. It boosts the immune system.

First of all, I want to say what a very wonderful mother you must be! I also boiled the water, for soooo long! The sad truth,(I believe) is that our water supply could be a very vulnerable and tragedy waiting to happen. Although my "kids" are 28,26 and 25, if I had babies to bring up now, I would never trust tap water. To some people I may sound like a paranoid nut case.Anyway it's not paranoia I'm trying to convey, only safety.Boil, filter or bottled water for drinking, is the only intellient choice in these times. I'm sorry to say that but sweetie, better safe than sorry. And many kudos to you!

I've never boiled water for either of my kids. Of course we have a very nice water filtration plant here and I happen to be friends with the city water manager. So I know what the quality of our water is. Maybe if I had well water, or lived where the water treatment plant was subpar I'd have boiled it. But even then, I wouldn't continue after I stopped giving bottles.

No more boiling water. You can buy fresh bottle water from the store for her to drink or you can install Brita filter. It cleanses the tap water into pure drinking water without the chemicals in it.

You should talk to your doctor about this one. I never boiled the water I used for my son. That was because the water in my area isn't that bad for kids. The water in your area is probably bad...if you doctor asked you not to use tap. You can always get bottled water...or water in a gallon. Again...this is an important issue, that is normally underestimated, you should talk to your doctor about. Good Luck!

I still don't give mine tap water... I use a Brita filter. I know my tap water is safe... but when there's a means of filtering it, I'd rather take that route. I have on occassion given him tap water... like when my husband forgets to fill the pitcher up.
I would use it, but prefer not to. If you are going to... I'm sure after their first B-day... you'll have no problems.

Tap water is fine... Newborns may have reactions to it at first that's why you should boil it. But after they are a few months old there's really no reason to.

You must be a great mom!

You shouldn't have to boil it at all, no matter what the age. Maybe years and years ago before the water filtration system. Tap water goes through a filtration system before it goes to the homes. I wouldn't worry about boiling it at all unless you have sulfur water. I've never boiled my children's water and they are fine.

You're boiling the water? Where do you live? In Mexico? You don't need to boil your child's water if it is not from a well. Most municipalities treat their water nowadays for human use....that's why in Mexico one is warned not to drink the water there because their water is not filtered, nor treated and full of bacterium.
