Da Vinci's is the main cafe/bar in the Imperial College Student Union. It offers a range of hot and cold food throughout the morning, lunchtime and evening. It also has a full bar, although it has a more limited range of beers than the Imperial College Union Bar, or Southside (located in another part of the campus).

The food is cheap, and the quality is what you would expect from a student bar. The bar also has a widescreen TV and is the preferred location for students to watch live football on Sky.

Da Vinci's is usually pretty busy on weekday lunchtimes (in between lectures), wednesday and friday evenings (it heaves) and is mildly busy when the football is on. Othewise, it is usually pretty quiet.

An ever-changing selection of real ales priced £1.50-£2.50. Brakspear and AAA seem to come round more often than anything else. The usual selection of big-name lagers, stouts and spirits, plus scrumpy on tap.

Food
Crisps and microwaved pies and pasties are available from the bar; the adjoining Da Vinci's Cafe Bar sells Chilli (£2.50 a plate), Pizzas (£4.50 for a 12" pizza with any two toppings) and other student foods at reasonable prices. The vegetarian selection is as good as the non-. To some extent, you get what you pay for. Reduced catering service during undergraduate vacations.

Service and Ambience
Busy during termtime, especially on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Moderately smoky. Reasonable service. Full of students. Technically customers have to be members of Imperial College Union or an affiliated body to gain access to the premises; in practice nobody cares, except on Wednesdays and Fridays after 9pm, when an appropriate identity card is required to gain entry.

The University of London Union (ULU, pronounced You-loo) is the supposed social centre of all the University's many colleges, however in reality it is probably only regularly frequented by nearby UCL, SOAS and Birkbeck students. It boasts an excellent gym, the largest swimming pool in London and several bars and cafes serving cheap beer and over-priced sarnies. It also has a shop selling University-themed souvenirs such as mugs, pens and American-style tees and sweatshirts. Outsiders know ULU best for its live gigs that take place most Friday evenings.
