By saying fear in the first place ... you have lost the meaning of knowledge. Knowledge is unraveling the mysteries and it is getting out of fears of what so ever. Knowledge is enlightenment and for the enlighted, there is no fear. Fear generates from ignorance.

And, why should you fear lord at all. If he expects gratitiude he cannot be a lord. Why fear ... does he get angry if you dont revere him and punish you ??? If that is the case, he is not a lord. He is not even a source of love, then.

Understand things from the right perspective dear ... and you will live life the way it has to be without fears and ignorance. You will then gain the real knowledge what you are seeking.

Fear of the lord is about as far from understanding God as one can get.

Why would you fear your best friend.

This idea the fear means respect is also nonsense. Respect is something that the insecure crave because it makes them feel better about them selves.

If your secure in your thoughts and actions it is irrelevant to you if someone chooses to respect you or hate you. After all does it really matter what the confused think?

What exactly is it that God has to be insecure about?

Love and blessings

The fear the Bible speaks of here is not a morbid fear of God but a fear of displeasing him. And when you have a fear of displeasing him, you will study his word to make sure you don't do anything he disapproves of. By studying you are taking in knowledge. John 17:3 says; This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. So yes, I experience the fear of displeasing Jehovah, so I take in all the knowledge I can and try to help others with that knowledge.

I think one should not fear the LORD but love of the LORD which is the beginning of knowledge coz GOD is love and LOVE is God. He is the FORGIVER and what is there to fear from Him.

Matthew 10:28 Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
God has the power over life & death... life = heaven, death = hell.
Jesus/God has the keys to hell... the power to cast the body & soul into hell.
To even begin having wisdom, we must first realize who has the greatest power... the power of love/God... that power is the greatest (best/wisest) guide.
To fear Him, to respect Him>>> is to realize who & what He is.
He is the Almighty... most powerful.
