when you are asked to sign or affix your signature what do you and how do you feel and what do you do ? Even teh prounciation for sign the letter 'g' is silent and in signature ' it sounds. Funny in english language.

sign and signature can be same and also can be different if you say sign on road then it will be the road sign.
