I ask this question only because I'm always interested to see how religious people will answer it. I'm inclined to think the Creation account is rather ridiculous and far-fetched myself.

Adam had one in the middle of his forehead. Eve had three, one on each leg.

This is really a shallow question when there are so many other better subjects to analyze.

I mean, why do people beleive that Adam and Eve were the only people that God "created"? The bible suggest that there were more.

Read up on Cain.

Doesnt one of the creation stories suggest evolution.

Come on now.

Well why would they need a belly button? Think about your question. What is the purpose of the belly button? so that the child may be nurished via its mother? An umbilical cord.... That's sort of like asking why do Men have belly buttons? We only have belly buttons because that it the point where the connection between mother and child began... Mother and baby arent connected belly button to belly button....This was a strange question.

my religion teacher told us that the story of ADAM AND EVE wasnt true!! i go to a catholic school and she said that it is only a myth to make you think about god and all. the reason she said this is bcoz i askd how come if god never punishes and is always forgiving then why did he punish eve?

but anways the point is my religion teacher said they never exsisted and i say that if they did then........yes they probably did have belly buttons if humans evolved from other animals...

cool question really got me thinking!! lol

No, unless God thought they needed one. Really it doesn't matter even though it is a good question. This is for -Sachin- If a doctor removed a rib from you and your child is born later do you think he would be missing a rib as well?

Were Adam and Eve really present? living things have evolved from a unicellular organism, not adam and eve coz if its true, men should have 23 ribs instead of 24:)

If you believe in the creation myth of Genesis, then the answer would have to be, "no."
