If you have the package of the air freshener -- or a similar one -- check the back and see if there's a number you can call for questions about the product. Ask them if it's harmful to dogs. You might also try the poison control center, being very clear that it's a dog that's eaten it. They may be able to help.

There are emergency animal hospitals, some that are even open 24/7.

Of course, I have no idea what the contents of the air freshener were, so I can't really gauge the urgency of the situation.

well, look at the label of the air freshner, and check if it poisionous. even if it is, nothing would, dogs have a stomach which is 4 times stronger than a humans, plus a air freshner wont do a thing, a puppy can digest a 6 week old rotten steak. it will live, i think:0)

I would call another vet's office and explain the problem. This is not the time to sit around and wait until your own vet is back.

well i am a vet and i am not ther to see what condition he or she is in so just give him lits of water. Hope the little pup is all right.

my pup ate a card/car type airfreshner a few weeks ago, didn't make him sick , just gave him the runs for a day, i just fed and gave him water as normal. he was fine with no ill affects, lol they will eat anything

call anyother local vet you'd be surprided at the difference youcan make by just listening to what they have 2 say

Did you get the receptionist? You should be able to read the ingrediants to her and get her to call you back with advice. She should be able to reach the vet on his mobile and take advice from him.

first you must be really sure it did that
then now since the vet is on call u can't do anything about it. any other vets to visit?

try to get the vet ASAP!
