That is a personal choice thing. No one color is better than any other.
I myself like bay and chestnut
I like grey but greys are very very prone to getting melonma skin cancer as they get older. Almost all greys get it to some degree.
And since I would rather not deal with that I will stick to my chestnuts and bays.

If you're limiting this to racing, some would say bay or chestnut because most winners are one of those two colors. However, in Thoroughbreds there are more bays and chestnuts than roans, grays, blacks, and even the rare white. So there is a better probability that one of the majority colors will win. In my personal opinion, I don't think color matters. As long the horse is sound and runs a solid race then so be it.

Grey and white are pron ed to cancer and sunburn. Black gets very hot in the sun.The fastest horses in History were most red and two were called BIG RED.Horses with white on lower legs can have white hoofs which are not as strong as dark feet.I have heard less complaints on bays. However the love of my life is black gelding and his gray girlfriend.Play it safe HA HA I guess get a 3 colored paint or Appy. Oh Appy's have strong feet.

I have always heard a myth that grey horses, especially dark grey, are the best horses to have. From experience I would say this might actually be true!

I'd say it is your personal preference. I personally don't think color really matters unless I'm showing in a color horse association, i.e, palomino horse breeders of America or international buckskin horse association.
