my mother and i both had problems with the same lady and the oral surgens office. i was the first one to talk to her and then told my mother how rude she was saying "this is the 3rd time you are trying to set up something....other people really want to get in here" all i could think of was if they really needed to get in there then they would schedual it.
then on the day of consultation this lady was rude to us again. my mother nor i didn't sigh a paper and she went off on us. we didn't sign it because we didn't get the information yet about it. and she goes "i guarentee you that by the end of the day you will know what you need to know"
then on the day of my sergery i left my class at the local university and the car wouldn't start. so i called my mothers work but she wasn't there so the lady there gave me the doctor's number so i call for my mom...the same lady goes "you know you should be here now" i go no kidding...my car won't start and i'm seeing if mom is there.

then rudely to my mom she goes "your daughter is on the phone and i don't know where she is...do you want to cancel the appointment"
my mom then gets my aunt's car and not even 10 minutes later i'm there. she gets all pissed at me cuz of my car problem. they wern't even ready for me yet when i got there...thank goodness my nurse and the doctor were really nice..not that lady...we arn't going back there ever again

its ot just resepshinits it is everybody who is unhappy with their job or there life and take it out on u because they have nothing better to do

I try to be understanding and sympathetic and all of that but we all have our breaking points. These are people that work with the public and if they don't like working with the public find another position.
One day it was the last straw and I was tired and everything had gone wrong and I looked at the women who was being rude to me and said "Do they pay you extra for that?" and she replied "Extra for what?" and I said "Extra for being that darn rude"

Because they are forced to answer multi-lined switchboards, sort and distribute mail, take messages, entertain people who walk up to them, answer questions that they really don't have an answer to, they're not allowed to eat at their desk because they sit where everyone can see them and they can't go surfing the net on their PC because people can see what they're doing...All for $7-$10 and hour.

Because they sit there on their fat a--es and can't get laid when they aren't there. It is similar to a monkey in a cage, everybody is better looking and staring at you all day , just like at the zoo. it doesn't cost a dime to be nice, does it?

Because they are overworked and underpaid!! These women have to deal with rude customers/patients all day long, it is only a matter of time before their patience is up.

It's appropriate to tell the dentist that you have having problems with the receptionist. Tell him briefly what's been going on.

Because they have inferiority complex syndrome! or they feel that they're extremely powerful coz they decide whether u can or cannot see their bosses.
