I am not against the bible nor am I against Christianity. The bible is not my sacred text and Christianity is not my choice of religion.
All religions have been persecuted and all religions have their zealots.

No its not the fact that lots are against christianity and bible . but certainly there is a problem with the chritian missionaries who forcibly wants people to go for christianity. this is not fair as it is a powerful religion and i think every body obey bible so no need to do this type of practice which the follower of other religions have to hate christians.

Having problem is different than accepting other religion by your self. The real question is you don't care about other religions but you will not agree or accept those religion except your own. Like that we don't have any problem with your religion at the same time we do believe in our religion only. That's not a crime. We have our own rights to follow what ever we believe.

God made man- man made Religion. Those who have problems with others religions are wrong in doing so. In this liberal world everyone should be allowed to follow any religion one desires ! Even if anyone has any problem with Christianity and Bible just IGNORE them. You are doing good by not having any problems with their religions-The Lord is there to handle these people !

It depends on how you interpret the Bible and Christianity in general. If you are going to be relatively literal, then yes, every other religion is against the Bible--"thou shalt have no other Gods before me", "I am a jealous God", and all that.
If you see Christianity and all other religions as mankind's attempts to understand the Infinite, and that God is much larger and more complex than we could ever understand, then no, it does not.

I'm going to assume you are referring to American Christians since your question was so vague. This claim of persecution against Christians is becoming ridiculous to say the least. The backlash against FUNDAMENTALIST Christians is their own fault. There are millions of Christians who do not feel the need to attack others and inundate them with dire threats of Hell for being gay or pro-choice for instance. But fundies have no problem judging others and proselytizing to people who have their own religious beliefs and have no desire to hear their claptrap. They are giving Christianity itself a very bad name. But then they are nothing but a rabid fringe group, much like the rabid fringe groups of Islam who are causing people to tend to look at all Islamic people of Middle Eastern descent as uncivilized terrorists.
Those against the Bible may be concerned with the current campaign of fundies to legislate their religion into all of our lives. After all, it is the Bible they claim as literate truth and try to shove in everyone's face without any concern or respect for the millions of others who do not believe as they do, or who are true Christians that don't fall into the fundie category and understand the difference between the Bible and their country's Constitution.

Every religion has many things that are very hard to believe in the modern world where every thing should be proved to be true. If we really argue there is nothing in any religion which seems to be true. Foremost where is God or Allah when his followers are killing innocent people. In the mask of religion people worship Devil more than any God. But believing in God/ Allah gives people assurances (may be false) in the bad times that some is there to help us. This gives us strength. And also Dog genes in men makes him search for his master. Who can be a better master than a mighty power like God.

Christianity is not a religion, it is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In a religion, you must do or perform certain acts to attain something. In the RCC you have to confess sins to a priest, say the Rosary, etc. In Islam you have to complete the 5 pillars. In Judaism you have to sacrifice animals, keep the Sabbat, etc.
In Christianity there is nothing you can do to merit God's favor or get to heaven. It is a free gift offered through Christ.

I don't think many people are against the religion itself or the Bible per se. I think it's those who practice Christianity that people don't agree with. I am not Christian. The Bible is not my holy text. I have no problem with those who choose that as their faith. The only thing I am against is those who try to convert me, or tell me my faith and decisions are "misguided". I made my choice and am happy with it. As I hope everyone else is with theirs. Just don't push your beliefs on me.

I think people see the negative, vocal segment of Christianity where fundamentalists are akin to the Islamic fundamentalists. When people see the hate and attack associated with stem cells, gay marriage, agendas to push a christian theocracy, and marginalization of science (evolution), then one can't help but be critical. Let's hope that people like the Episcopalans' Bishop-elect (who accepts evolution and doesn't believe Jesus is the only way to god) become more vocal and give a fresher face to Christianity, just as we hope that the more moderate elements in Islam speak up and present a positive alternative to Islamic fundamentalism.
