Take some good rechargeable and the recharger. The ship should have somewhere to plug it in.

I have a few brands of AA NiMh rechargable batteries that I use and I would recommend Sanyo brand. They are good, and at the same time very reasonably priced. Cheaper than the Energizer, Duracell. But at least 2 sets, so when you have depleted 1 set of batteries, you can charge the batteries, while you have another set for use.
Don't forget the electrical power point adaptor if you require it.

I personally love the Monster brand of rechargeble batteries. There are different levels of charge capacity so get the highest you can find for a longer length of usage time. You will probably want to get 2 or 3 sets of batteries and bring a charger for something as important as a cruise. Keep a spare set of fully charged batteries with you at all times in case the ones in your camera die on you when you are taking photos. Most importantly, enjoy your cruise.

When I was in Europe for two weeks I brought a set of rechargable batteries and a pack of Duracells to use while the other batteries recharged. It worked out really well for me.

My son bought some Energizer e2 Lithium batteries and really liked them. They are non-rechargeable lithion ion batteries that claimed up to seven times more pictures, but he found they lasted even longer than promised. He's taken about 500 photos and several videos on his Canon Powershot A620 on the same set of batteries. They cost about four times as much as regular Energizers, but they are worth more than that.

I only use rechargeable Energizer NIMH AA batteries. They're a little pricey the first time around, but all in all they are a good investment.

You should buy digital camera batteries. They are meant for your camera and won't wear out as quickly.

Duracell are the best. they don't really last for up to 10 times longer, but they do last about 5-6 times longer
