Storing Your Coffee. Coffee beans tend to lose their flavor rather quickly and even faster after being ground. It's best to keep your coffee whole bean until used. Always keep your coffee in a sealed container that prevents the coffee from being exposed to the open air.

Coffee can be kept fresh in a sealed container in a cupboard for a couple of weeks. If you need to keep your coffee longer than two weeks, keep it in a sealed container in your freezer. When keeping coffee in the freezer, take out only the amount you are going to use and put the remainder back into the freezer immediately. Coffee kept in the freezer will last a month or more.

Freezing your coffee exposes it to moisture from the freezer. Coffee stored in the freezer can also pick up Odors from whatever is stored in the freezer. Basically, keep your coffee in a cool, dark and airtight place. I keep mine in original packaging, in an air tight food saver canister. Also, it's best to grind just before brewing.

I believe keeping anything in the fridge is better than leaving it on the shelf. Coffee for sure is better kept refrigerated. I keep mine in there. I have tried both ways and personally fridge is the better way to go. I'm a real coffee lover.

its better to keep them in an airtight jar--as long as u can limit the amount of air getting to it. the freezer does work but putting it in an airtight container retains more of the robust flavour and aroma.
