When you have a desire to eat and drink anything that will cause weight gain, you must ask yourself whether the food is worth it. Ask yourself how you will feel after eating the food. Ask yourself whether you really want to lose weight.
You have a choice in the matter. You may feel a little discomfort at first for not continuing an eating pattern, but you will get use to it. Eventually it will be second nature for you not to eat the chips or drink the soda.

You need to learn about a healthy lifestyle - go to self.com and dig in. Usually if someone is obsessed with food, it's a comfort to them. Try to find something else that is comforting, like exercise. It makes you feel better about your self and releases endorphins in your brain that actually give you a "high!" Shame on whomever is enabling you. You are maturing into an adult and this is something you can take control of. You need to be proactive and talk to your parents about eliminating the junk food from your house and replacing it with a balanced diet. You should also start exercising regularly. The best replacement for soda is water. An OK alternative is crystal lite. If chips are your weakness, buy the 100-calorie pringles packages and only have one a day. Once you go to self.com and learn about your BMI and the amount of calories you should be taking in a day - you will be in a better position to control your future. Remember to have a healthy lifestyle - and that means not obsessing over weight loss. You should eat right and exercise but spending time with friends or doing things (hobbies) that you love are important, too! Good luck!

Start slowly and wean yourself off of them. I had exactly the same problem with coke and bbq chips! Start by substituting them with lower calorie versions, such as diet coke and baked Ritz chips in bbq flavour or Quaker Crispy Mini's in bbq flavour.
Then start decreasing the amount you eat each day and substitute more with some water or water with crystal lite if you need some sweetness, and some veggies for the chips.
You don't have to do it all at once, otherwise you will feel deprived and cheated, so try taking it in baby steps!

Quitting the junk food cold turkey is definitely the way to go. If you can't live without it, then diet soda and baked chips are okay, but I would really rec commend cutting it out, not replacing it. Learn to eat carrot stick and low fat ranch dressing or sliced pin apple with low fat strawberry yogurt for dipping. Just try a few healthy combinations, and you will see, they taste just as good as chips and they will definitely make you feel better!

A good start to breaking the addition is to go high protein for three days. Lots of red meat and eggs, this will kick your body into ketosis and it helps eliminate the desire for sweets (BBQ chips are sweet too).
Some of it is just will power, getting rid of the stuff in the house but eating healthy does of protein stabilizing the bodies desire for sweets.

If you give up just the soda. Substitute it for water/ lemon water, you can lose a great deal of weight. And the chips too. WOW..You would feel alot better, and you would lose even more. Diets dont work...We ahve to change the way we look at food. Forget the fast food joints...salad...fruit...protein...complex carbs...and water...exercise...you will look great!!!! and feel even bettet

Get all of the soda and chips out of the house, or away from you. Find other foods that you like- and try to excersize. Maybe if you do it with a friend, it will be easier.

Will power honey! The first couple of days arent going to be that easy, but it wont be that bad either.
Have a crunchy apple instead. After a week, you wont feel like it anymore. Replace it with a long walk and a glass of water, or that crunchy apple.
