i wouldnt trim it every few weeks hair grows between 1-5mm on average a month depending on hair, some grow more, id talk to a good hairdresser about growing it, she/he could advise you but also keep trimming it for you at the right amount so as not to keep cutting off the new growth. its difficult with curly hair as you dont see the growth that quickly, my hair is at my waist but it took me 7 years from an ear length bob, but im lucky enough to have fast growung hair that doesnt split easily, i used to have a 1cm trim every 6months, but your biggest hurdle is getting to a bob length as it will look a state for a few months while it grows, once there you can keep straightening it etc, but hey speak to a hairdresser

use a straightening tongs. I spent 5 years in school with a terrible haircut as I was trying to grow it out! I wish I had had straighteners back then!

i think that you are just going to have to wait, unless you want to get extensions. that would pobably ruin your hair a bit, and you would be more likely to get split ends. my personal advice is to wait, and when you get your hair cut, only ask for it trimmed.
