You'll really be better off taking an ASL class, but there are some decent resources online. You can take free lessons at this site:

look up deaf and not deaph-youll get more results. At most local community centeres you can sign up for a ASL (American Sign Language) cource. Or every city has a deaf community and will have some type of organization. You can look in the phonebook for these organizations. Call them and they most likely offer a course as well. You can download courses off the internet or rent books and or movies from the local library. Better then books is volunteer for the deaf organization in your city and most people who work there are deaf and will teach you for free.
