You're on the right track...
Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water.
Meal suggestions:
piece of fruit
string cheese, summer sausage, cottage
cheese/yogurt
tuna/turkey/ham sandwich (w/lettuce, tomatoe)
soup
raw veggies
boiled eggs
Always eat a good dinner...meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Cardio exercise is great, but most people don't continue for an extended period, do "daily" simple exercise like walking/hiking, biking, swimming are low impact, play games like basketball, baseball, or volleyball, they will help to lose weight, tone your body, make new friends and you'll have fun doing it.

Try the following : do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read fitness magazines, like Shape and Fitness for motivation and tips.
Good luck and stick at it.

It's hard to predict exactly without knowing more specifics. If you drink 5 sodas a day, you will obviously lose more weight by cutting those out than someone who only drinks one soda a day.
Your body is really only capable of losing approximately 1% of your body weight in fat per week (about 1 to 2 pounds for most people). However, by reducing your caffeine, sugar, and sodium intakes you can lose quite a bit of water weight your first couple of weeks. Some people can lose 10 pounds their first week on a healthy eating program because of all the water they have been retaining.
In addition to those changed, I would recommend upping your water intake. Take your weight, divide that number by two, and drink that many ounces of water per day. This will help flush all those unhealthy things out of your system!

Losing weight in one week
Losing weight is difficult. But here I am introducing you some tips to lose a small amount of weight in a healthy that that is also within a week.
Steps to losing weight fast
* Get a set of small hand weights, 3, 5 or 8 lbs.
* Do five to ten minutes of weight lifting for a half an hour after each meal. Lie on your back and slowly lift yourself up with weights in each hand. Do this daily for the full seven days.
* Before or after you take a bath or a shower each day, do five minutes of jogging in place, your weights in hand.
* Do not eat greasy foods. Drink only water and fruit juice. Eat a portion of vegetables at every meal.
* In the morning try to eat fruit. Do NOT dump heaps of sugar on your cereal.
* Follow this regimen for seven days and you will see results.
* Take time to cook, Make food look appealing; don't be afraid to try new things. If you're not sure how to prepare or eat things you can go on an online search engine (such as google) and look how recipes and how to eat things.
* It is a shown fact that one of the "weight loss tips" is not true, many of us believe that if we eat late at night the food turns directly into fat. This is only a myth, food is stored all day into fat, it has nothing to do with time. Make sure you eat a lot of protein, this is important because if you don't have enough protein in your diet you will lose muscle and not fat.(Muscle will be burned but not as much). And finally have fun with it! Make up a dance or jump rope to music, getting active doesn’t mean boot camp!
Quick tips
* Eat plenty of vegetables with each meal.
* Drink plenty of water
* Before buying any food, look for carbs, calories and sugar in the ingredients. You'll want to cut down on all three.

A lot depends on how much of those things you currently eat/drink. Another thing to take into consideration would be what things you would take as alternatives. For example, if used fruit punch to replace the soda you would still have a lot of calories. I would guess you could lose about 3-4 pounds if you stuck to your plan and didn't add anything else into the mix.

Diets don't work. It is a billion dollar industry. They want your money. What needs to change is what and why we eat.
Calories. and Exercise. It is as simple as that.
If you give up the junk food. Drink a gallon of water a day, and exercise, you should lose a couple of pounds. It is smater though to make a lifestyle change...not just for a week.

It depends on how often you eat chips, drink soda, etc. Just eat less and exercise more and you'll lose weight.

ketchup is allowed. drink a gallon of water per day too and you will see and feel the results by the end of the week assuming you arent gorging yourself. if you feel hungry between meals, drink a glass of water or 2, if you are still hungry eat a piece of celery or and apple, drink more water afterwards. always drink a full glass of water before you eat anything and always drink water after you finish eating. keep in mind that spices are free on any diet. a salad with garlic powder and onion powder is delicious. make your diet flavorful and you will want to stick to it.
