I LOVE my Outlook (NOT Outlook Express). It'll use your Word fonts, dictionary and wallpaper. Messages are saved on your hard drive.
The message size dedends on the number of characters in the note. A full page of characters (no spaces, no pictures) is 24K. Your hard drive also contains software, so you'd need to determine the amount of available space. Even still, you should have plenty of room if you delete messages you don't need any longer

I have Outlook, and unless you want to use its other items like the calendar, etc., why not stay with Yahoo. Certainly easy to use.

When you receive e-mail in Yahoo, the date and size of the mail are displayed.

If you read and then delete from Yahoo, it is not saved on your computer.

i definitly recommend outlook. it is very nice and easy to use. Emails are generally very small 1k or less. Its when attachments are included when they start to get bigger in size. it will take an extremely long time to get 1 gig of emails w/o attachments
