The key person in Christianity is likely the Emperor Constantine. He had the army and power to spread it. If it wasn't for him Christianity wouldn't have been any different from the myriad of other cults at that time.

We don't know. The earliest record of it are the writings of Paul. But by the time he started writing, there were already several established competing Christian sects. My guess is that if not for Paul, Christianity would not exist today.
There is speculation that it grew out of a syncretism of Essene tradition with paganism such as Horus worship and Bacchus. Much like Islam, it looks to be an attempt to appeal to a broad base of beliefs that were prevelant in the first and second centuries. It has components that would appeal to Jews, Pythagoreans, Bacchus followers, John the Baptist cultists, Egyptian Horus and Kyrast cults, and probably others I'm forgetting right now.
Each of the Gospel stories appears to be targetted toward a specific religious group. There was clearly intent to create a big tent religion early on.

First, i don't know that Muhamed was the architect of Islam. Evidence suggests that he was a lifetime illiterate. It also suggests that the Q'uran may have been in his wife's handwriting (she was a catholic) so she may have been the architect.
As for Christianity, the house is so poorly built that we need not assume any organized architect(s). There is not even agreement among scholars that Jesus existed, so where should we look? Derek j has given a good response for the architects of the Bible, and that may be as far as we can go.

Well im gonna go with Iraneas and the council of Nicea..the guys who chose what to put in the bible and what not to. The ones who decided that some of the Gospels were heresy and some werent. And Constantine also but he you have to remember was a pagan...and the only reason he gave tolerance to the Christians is because he won a battle. But yeah..Iraneaus is a good one...If you really wanna know more read the book Beyond Belief by elaine pagels...It will help you understand more.

Traditional Christian claims about Jesus' divinity rest on the virgin birth, resurrection, and the miracles he performed during his lifetime, These claims have varying levels of verifiability.
Nobody but Jesus' mother, Mary, could have known if he were really the product of a virgin birth. Regarding the resurrection, former president of the Catholic Biblical Association Raymond E. Brown admits that "the New Testament does not make claim that anyone saw the resurrection," and therefore "the reality of the bodily resurrection hinges on the missing body or the empty tomb and, above all, on the validity of the experiences of those who claimed they saw Jesus risen. According to Christian tradition, eleven (of the twelve) disciples and Mary Magdalene saw Jesus alive after his crucifixion, and "the apostles" saw Jesus ascend into the heavens at the conclusion of his earthly mission.
Christianity's credibility derives mostly from its descriptions of the miracles Jesus performed.
Unfortunately there is no proof Jesus ever existed and everything written about him is hearsay.

God created Islam, not Muhammad. Muhammad (pbuh) was the LAST prophet of the religion known as "Islam". The first was Adam and it included David, Solomon, Moses, Jacob, Job, Lot, Noah, JESUS, and others. The last one was Muhammad (pbuh) and after him the world will end and we will be held accountable. Those that say that Muhammad used Biblical texts to make the Qur'an are completely wrong and can never explain what I'm about to say. Basically, Muslims believe the Bible and Judaic texts were corrupted over time by the pen of man. The Qur'an when it was revealed CORRECTED the Bible and Judaic texts on many occasions and many of them have been proven to be factually correct (via science and historical facts). To see what I'm talking about, check out http://jews-for-allah.org/e-books/Quranic-corrections-JewishBible.pdf#search=%22quran%20corrects%20bible%22
