The main pan that a cheesecake is baked in is a springform pan, to allow the cheesecake to be removed easily and without falling apart.

A cheesecake can be made in any pan, provided you're not concerned with how it will look. For instance, sometimes I'll make a cheesecake in a 13 x 9 pan. If I'm making cheesecake bites, small squares of cheesecake that you dip in chocolate, I will use an 8 x 8 cake pan.

A lot of it has to do with cosmetics. A cheesecake is supposed to be made in a springform pan, but that isn't set in stone!

YOU MUST USE A SPRING FOAM PAN THAT HAS A RING THAT CAN BE REMOVED EASILY AFTER IT IS DONE BAKING. THIS CAKE WILL NEED TO EXPAND AS IT BAKES AND FORMS.

A GLASS PAN U CAN USE ONLY IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A NO BAKE CHEESE CAKE.

GOOD LUCK AND MAKING ONE IT IS EXPENSIVE TODAY TO EVEN TRY MAKING ONE YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER FINDING THE BEST BAKERY THAT IS IN YOUR AREA AND BUY ONE THAT IS ALREADY MADE AND IS SUGAR FREE.

You could, but it would be difficult to remove from the pan..normally you should use the type of pan with the removable sides.
