Can you answer these riddles?

1. Three men go to a hotel and ask the manager how much it is for one night. The manager tells them $30. Each man pays $10. When the men get to their room the manager realizes that he overcharged them. The cost was really $25. So he gives $5 to the bellhop to give to the men. The bellhop dosn't know how to give the $5 to the men equally so he puts $2 in his pocket and gives $1 to each man. So if each man spent a total of $9 the room costed $27. And if the bellhop has $2 wich equals $29 where if the thirtieth dollar?

2. There's an elm tree growing in the forest. There are 8 branches. On each branch grows 8 acorns. If someone picks 1 acorn from each branch how many acorns are on the elm tree?

3. Some birds lay their eggs in trees and some on the ground. Where does a peacock lay its egg?

4. If a rooster sits on the top of of house with two slanted sides which side does the egg roll off of?

5. If a butcher is 5 feet tall what does he weigh?

6. If a lily in a pond grows twice its size every day and it takes 30 days to cover the whole pond how many days does it take to cover half?

First one to get them all right gets best answer.

For number 6 I meant lily pad. There is an answer to it.

1. There is an initial $30 charge. It should have been $25, so $5 must be returned and accounted for. $3 is given to the 3 friends, $2 is kept by the bellhop - there you have the $5. The trick to this riddle is that the addition and subtraction are done at the wrong times to misdirect your thinking - and quite successfully for most. Each of the 3 friends did indeed pay $9, not $10, and as far as the friends are concerned, they paid $27 for the night. But we know that the clerk will tell us that they were charged only $25 and when you add the $3 returned with the $2 kept by the bellhop, you come up with $30.

1)9 and 27 are inconsequential. total cost is 25. plus 3 dollars(what was returned) = 28 + 2 (kept by the bellhop) = $30.
