Stores such as walmart, kmart and stores with a health section sell a product called Canka and it works great. It eliminates the canker sores within 3 days.

Buy some Lysine. It's an over the counter herb/vitamin and it works like a charm. At the first sign of a canker sore or cold sore outbreak, hit the Lysine with about 4000 mg. a day for as long as you want and it really holds them away.
If you're already having problems, try some salt water gargles too.

Cankers are viral therefor wash your mouth with warm salt water every couple of hours.

If you grind up valtrex pills and mix them in with Vaseline you have a suave that will work very well on cold sores. The only problem is you have to run this by your doctor as valtrex is prescription only.
