I'm 16. One of my good friends, is acting differently around me. I came back to school. She starts doing things differently. First day starts resting her arm on my knee. Steals my hat all the time, all of a sudden sits next to me all the time, and hugs me. Riped a hole in one of my shirts, asks for my jewerly, draws pictures for me. but the dilema see does hug some other guys. She was drawing pictures with me before, stole my hat on occasion. Everything now is just more constant. She will turn around and talk to me the whole class. And her favorite things in a male fits my description.

My thing is whether this is deep friendship or she likes me

She definitely likes you - she's probably flirting w/ other guys to get you jealous. She's just waiting for you to make a move. Girls play silly games like that all the time - it's totally normal.

She's probably tired of playing it cool and waiting for you to ask her out, so she's trying hard to let you know she wants to be with you. The very best thing to do is ask her. If you would like something romantic to happen, tell her that you've always liked her and wondered what she felt. If you don't want anything romantic to happen, you might gently let her know that your feelings about her are not romantic, that you've noticed the change in the way she acts around you this year and wanted to understand what was going on.

I remember when I was 16, I was clueless about stuff like this and wasn't brave enough to ask anyone (and there was no Yahoo Answers). "If I knew then what I know now!!"

I saw your additional details. I think the answer to that is no, not if you make sure you don't make her feel weird.

I wouldn't ask her out directly. You're good enough friends that you could talk to her about where things might go. You could start by telling her how much you appreciate her friendship, then admit to wondering if things might go beyond that. From the sounds of it, she really does want to have a relationship with you. Of course, she may also be afraid of the same thing you are ... losing your friendship by pursuing it. The bet thing to do is to talk with her about it. I'll bet she'll be relieved if you do.

I don't understand, do you like her borrowing your things and acting like this or what. If you do, I think you need to go with the flow but if you don't tell her how you feel. It seems as though, to me that she wants to be your friend in a deep friendship. Ask her what's going on, so you can clarify and be clear on what's going on.

She likes you but the shirt ripping part is a little weird. Proceed with caution.
