No offense but this is a bogus question in that it cannot be answered.
There was no accurate study done or questionnaire for returning vets asking them to check off a box with that question...
Therefore any percentile answer you get is just something made up by the answerer and has no basis in reality.

I was an air force pilot in Vietnam. I would venture to say on what I personally observed, somewhere between 75% - 85% of most enlisted men patronized prostitutes. They were very inexpensive at the time. There were also some officers who had private living arrangements as well as civilian contractors who would hire a girl to live with them. They would clean their apartment, cook for them, do all their domestic work and sleep with them, at the time, it cost about $40 -$45 a month. There were two things to look out for with prostitutes over there. You had to wear a condom or risk getting venereal disease. One form was called "bull prick" as it caused your penis to swell up greatly and fill up with pus. There were also many girls who were heroine addicts who the north Vietnamese would pump full of drugs until they passed out. They would then anesthetize their vagina's and stick pieces of razor blades in them. Then, when an American solider was getting ready to have sex with them, someone would step out and push the solider so his penis went right into the woman and got shredded by the pieces of the razor blad. Most of the girls also died from blood loss, but they did not care.

90%+ .....from the upper brass to the lowly infantry! At those prices you could have a field day!! Better than Vegas......what happens here really stayed there expect for some freak moments when GIs fell in Love/Lust or children were involved!! Temptation and the ease of transaction made it all to easy! The upper brass had higher class ladies while the rest had village regulars!!

Probably the same % of lawyers that screw their clients daily. Ask that question after you've been 13,000 miles away from home with a whole country trying to kill you daily. Let me quess, you're writing a paper for school! Go fight in a war & find out how much YOU feel like chasin' skirt.

If I had to guess, I would say that most of them did. Put a man in that environment where he won't get caught and there is plenty of opportunity and he will do it and not look back.

Military personnel are not asked, nor do they fill out a questionnaire on what they do while on leave. Any statistic given would be bogus.

I doubt there was record kept of that kind of information, so I think you can only speculate on how many came in contact with prostitutes!
