burning something for profit , or getting rid of a rival ( such as your near by club )-- the arson personnel ( the fire dept ) will find the cause if that is indeed the case--- keep in touch with them

yes that sounds like arson (and criminal damage) to me. tell your suspicions to the police, you never know, they might act upon them.
