This can be a tricky problem, as there are several different things that can cause it. If it shuts down all the time, how can you get online to get a solution?

Most of the solutions involve downloading files. There was a recent windows update that caused this problem for some people and if you run windows updates again, it corrects itself.

As with any problems, you need to know that you don't have problems with spyware or viruses. IF you can get online you can download the new version of windows explorer at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx and that might well solve the problem.

The other thing to try is turning off any extra toolbars you have installed in Explorer, like the Google, Yahoo, or any others. It is not that these are bad, but they sometimes conflict with each other. Go to the top of IE, click on view, then TOOLBARS, then uncheck any extra ones. If IE quits crashing, then you know why.
