And if the old testament is the old covenant, why should it be part of the bible at all?
Jewish myth and old Jewish law is all it is, why should Christians pay any attention to it?
How do you know what is part of the old covenant and what is of the new,
Why is beating slaves, the way to sacrifice animals and other wacked laws "old covenant" but the things that don't disturb people's modern ethics as much in the OT is "god's word" to be taken literally, (adam and eve, noah, etc.)

WHy should we pay any attention at all to the TEN COMMANDMENTS if it is old covenant when right in the same book, they describe how you are to put people to death for not keeping the day of the Sabbath holy?

We shouldn't pay attention to any of it. Screw 'em! Thanks to the advent of science and reason we thankfully don't have to accept the ramblings of semi-nomadic goat-herders. Cheers!

If you take away all the Old Testament, you take away about 75% of the New Testament as it is direct quotes from the Old Testament. You take away all the teachings of Jesus and even He said you need to take the whole bible as a rule book even though the New Testament was not even written as yet. If you will study the bible you will know what the old covenent and new covenent is, both are the Ten Commandments. Why have anything to do with the Ten Commandments? Exactly what Satan says. Would you want to live in a world that had forgotten totally the Ten Commandments? Lets take a look at what it would be like. No laws so it would be ok to steal all that you have in your possession, anyone could come in and kill your parents, your children, your spouse or even you and there would be no penalty as there is no law in the world now. No law against adultery or anything else either so you would have total mass confusion and the stronger you are the better you will have it till you get a bit older and a stronger one comes along to take your place. I think I would rather have the Ten Commandments in place than to have all that. All the laws we have on the books today are based on the Ten Commandments. If you have any doubts, check it out. The old covenent was written on tables of stone, you read in the bible, but they esteemed them not. They did not keep them as we don't keep them today to a great extent. So God said He would put them not on tables of stone but on the stony tables of your heart. The New Covenent. The old was put on tables of stone, the new on the tables of your heart. Same law but different places. Now I ask you, what harm is there in taking literally the Old Testament history of Noah, Adam and Eve, etc.? Is it that you just don't want to think there could have been a flood that covered the Earth or that you could have decended from two people that were made by God? You say it is all old Jewish myth but where were the Jews when Adam and Eve were made? Or the flood with Noah? There was not a Jew around and there was not a Jew made as yet. If you will do your homework, you will find the Jew came from the tribe of Judah, many centuries after the flood and even after the Ten Commandments were given or the laws of the sacrificial system. If you look at your bible and really read it closely, you will find that it was not Jews that were taken from the land of Egypt but Hebrews. There was not a Jew to be found as there was no tribe of Judah as yet. Later they were separated into tribes and that is where the word Jew came from, the tribe of Judah. It is all in the bible and in history as well so nothing really new here that has not been written for many centuries or understood by many. So why pay attention to the Old Testament? Because it tells of the Saviour that will be coming to save the world and it even tells about Heaven. If you really don't want to know about the Saviour or about what Heaven will be like, I guess you really don't need it at all or the bible for that matter. But if you really want to know Jesus as well as know a little of what Heaven will be like and not throw away three fourths of the bible, you will want to read it and understand it a bit more so you can know the truth.

The Old Testament is part of the Christian Bible. The Torah is the Jewish Bible. The former was translated from Hebrew to Greek to English, and unfortunately, many English passages have not been translated into their Hebrew equivalents.
It's unclear what you're asking. Try asking one question at a time.

the only Scripture Jesus knew became into the 'old testomony'. He became into Jewish, and it became into His Scriptures. He quoted it lots. He does not have instructed human beings to interchange it with some thing that did no longer exist yet. the recent testomony bargains with the life of Jesus and the thank you to stay a Christian life. It does not ought to handle a topic matter that has been sufficiently dealt with already. i'm no longer asserting there is no longer something in it approximately creation, cos frankly i might ought to accomplish a splash study in the previous making a assertion like that.

the first five books of the bible is the old covenant or the LAW. the rest of the old testament is valuable for it shows that god is patient and that he does punish us or allows us to be punished if we make bad choices. The lamb was the animal chosen for the redemption of sin. It is the same way on the old testament as it is the nee testament. The difference being is that CHRIST is the lamb of god, he was also the final Sacrifice for the blood of Christ is not so much physical but spiritual

Simply because God prescribed the laws to give the Israelites direction in their lives. Much of the Old Law is very detatiled (women's cycles, rearing children, etc.). As Christians, we are no longer held accountable for keeping the Old Law - we are not saved by following the directions, nor by offering sacrifices.
The laws are as useful today as they were back then, however. Diets derived from the Old Law are generally healthier. Families who are governed by the Old Law are generally happier & better adjusted to making social & personal achievements.
Old Law adherants were justified by their faith in God - they trusted God's direction & proved their trust by following the Old Laws.
Those of us under the Grace of Jesus are justified by our faith in God - we trust that His sacrifice was sufficient for our sins & we prove that trust by allowing His Holy Spirit to control our lives.
Much of the principle of the Old Law is fulfilled in our actions by the Holy Spirit.
The Old Laws may seem extreme in our "modern" society, but they were neccesary to maintain order in the monotheistic cultures of the Old Testament.
Following the 10 Commandments or other Old Laws will certainly keep you in a right relationship with God, but they are no longer neccesary for justification/slavation.

The Frame work of the Bible is Jesus. Well, Jesus himself said he did not come to abolish the LAW but to complete it. He never condemned it in fact he summarized it; "Love God, love your neighbor". God gave the LAW to convince people of their sins and their need for him. God provided that help through Jesus, hence grace.
Human nature is often selfish. It will only accept or take the parts that can feed its greed and satisfy itself.
Also take into mind the different societies
