Do you know any people who you suspect are never depressed? I know some people who do not discuss it, but I expect they have their moments.

I'm in the hospital being treated for depression and just last night
one of my peers brought up the subject of those with mental illnesses having a higher i.q. than the general population . It seems to be true based on people each of us know and also knowing there actual i.q.
I think its possible to hide mild degrees of depression but not more severe cases.

Hi there it doesn't matter how intelligent you are, depression can and does hit anybody from all walks of life, some people sadly may not want to talk about it especially if they are seeing a psychiatrist,as due to public ignorance and the stigma that is still attached,as they are just too embarrassed to talk to anybody about it,it's sad as the rest of your body can get unwell, hurt or bones broken, so why people can't understand that the brain can also get ill too, usually you can tell if someone is depressed but it is treatrable just like any other illness,i hope this has been of help to you

I'm soooo depressed. And yes I have a higher intelligence! I do....really. Believe me when I say I'm very intelligent but don't yell at me about it, geez that hurts my feelings. I'm going to my room, get in bed and stay there the rest of the day. I am ready I have my pizza, candy, cookies, chips, and coke. Oh yes I forgot to take my prozac that makes me want to cry. I'm sorry I just can't type anymore. :o(

Depression can happen to anyone, who cannot cope with the stresses of life. It is an equal opportunity disease.
