i am 16 had sex for first time recently and my bf told me we could use the rthym method i was not aware how ineffective this is if you have irregular periods mine are about every other month. my period was due last week and i assumed i was just skipping another month again but now i am worried. how can i tell if i have the possibility of being pregnant if i do not have a 28 day cycle?i have had sex with him only 3 times. can i take a preg. test now? when should i test?my bf is 19 did he take advantage of me? tried telling him my concern and he laughed at me.

The rythm method is NOT effective and never has been. Yes you can get pregnant the first time, yes you could be pregnant now. Be responsible, go to your gyn and get started on birth control. This guy is feeding you lines so you'll sleep with him and laughing at you when you have legitimate concerns. Tell him if he's responsible enough to sleep with a 16 y/o girl, he's responsible enough to accompany you to your appointment where he will have the fear of God installed in him. Issue him an ultimatim. Either he comes with you to your appointment (and helps cover the costs if thats an issue) or you are no longer going to sleep with him.

First of all you would generally take a pregnancy test when you realized you had missed a period. Seeing as you usually skip I would say you should get more accurate results by waiting a month from when this happened or even a few weeks. Second of all I would explain to your boyfriend how scary this can be for a girl. Many men do not have to deal with the consequences of being pregnant, after all they can leave. Explain your feelings, if he is not supportive I would not have sex with him until he can appreciate your feelings and be supportive. After all what is sex without trust and respect?
I would also reccomend using condoms or other forms of contraceptive. You can usually go to a free clinic to get the pill and they can make it confidential if you are worried about your parents finding out. I would highly reccomend this.

You shouldn't listen to him. There always a chance that any girl can be pregnant the first time the girl has sex. The chances stays the same after you have sex the 2nd time, the 3rd time, and so forth unless you get your tubes tied or have your boyfriend have a vasectonomy then you would not get pregnant at all. By the way, if you had sex somewhere else, it would NOT reduce the chances of being pregnant. Your boyfriend has like what 8 million sperm that is going inside you??? Take birth control pills every 2 hours.

OH BOY! Yeah if you are late then you can take a pregnancy test, it is more accurate if taken first thing when you wake up in the morning. Yes he took advantage, I would find out if you are pregnant or not, then decide what to say to him, as far as he as a man goes, leave him alone, for him to do that to you he is crap! If you are preganant, well that remains to be seen, one thing at a time. Find out if you are first. Good Luck.

well first i am so sorry that you are going through something like this... first and more important you should take yourself to the doctor and get a pregnacy test and be tested for all the stds out there... and yes you can get pregnat the first time you have sex, you do not even have to have your period,,,, you should worry about yourself and not about him,, if he laughed at you while you were trying to be honest then he probally was taking advantage of you ,,,, you should move on and be strong and concentrate on getting yourself well and healthy.. i wish you the best of luck.

Yes, your bf took major advantage of you. He does not care about you, but his own selfish desires. You are waaaayyyy too young to have sex!!! Take a pregancy test. I pray you are not pregnant, and if you are not.....please STOP HAVING SEX!!! AND DUMP THAT LOSER OF YOURS!!!! He'll do it again and again until you do get pregnant for real!
Stop having sex, focus on school, your education, and your future. Not only can you get pregnant, but you can catch STDs. I'm sure you are not only person that he as been with...he is 19!

You can take the pregnancy test now. It may show already. What kind of a guy is your bf? You wouldn't want to marry this kind of guy either, so why are you risking your future by carrying his baby (if it might happen?). Go test yourself now or go see a doctor and stop your sexual relationship with this untrustworthy guy. Tell him you might have AIDS, see if he will still laugh!

girl, buy the ept test now. remember always that is a males top priority to get him some. each time that you give yourself away and realize that you were taken advantage of your Psyche takes a hit. Well by the law he raped you. Even if you consented, your parents can file statutory rape charges on him. You need to get a pregnancy test now to see if you are or not. If you are, you are going to have some very serious issues to deal with.
