I think it depends largely on where you live. I lived in Brighton whilst at Uni and the public transport there was very regular, reliable and normally quite clean.

I now live back at "home" (small village in Worcestershire) and yes, the public transport is shocking. There are 3 buses a day which take you to the closest town. Luckily I can afford to get taxi's whenever I need, but I have no idea how the older residents get on.

I love public transport. I will only drive if there is a strike by tube, train or bus drivers. When using public transport if it breaks down its not your worry you catch the next one, if its you car you have to foot the bills for repair and towing. You will also be late where you are going because you will have to wait for a tow truck. When you use you car its not only fuel you have to buy you need to service and maintain your car. Pay insurace. Get ripped by mechanics they are more expensive than lawyers and doctors and they will usually mess up with you car. You have to get MOT. If you are not a carefull driver you will end up being hounded by traffic wardens and traffic police. You will get speeding finesand parking fines. You will be nabbed for using your cell phone whilst driving. On public transport you can doze and sleep if you are lucky to get a seat. You can read your paper, you can revise for an examination, you can admire your fellow passegers. Finaly if you are involved in an accident in your car statistics show that you get more injures than you will get if you are in a bus or train.

I do not like public transportation. I think it's been over 6 years since I've used the system.

It's not so bad, it's just the other people that use it. The bus can be empty, loads of room and the local nutter will get on and sit next to you, or some old dear who wants to talk about her rat of a dog and stinks of pee. Yeah come to think of it I do hate it. Hope you get your car sorted soon.

Yep i hate it i dont like when you are sat with a bunch of strangers and they stare plus i hate people sitting behind me to.and i hate when you have to stand up on a bus when before it takes stops to where you wanted to be dropped off at and everyone gets up at the same time and you bump into people. I would rather walk in general.

Try complaining to the bus company if that is no good find out if its a service run on behalf of a local authority and report them If all else fails report them to the traffic commisioner for your area

Some of the methods are not so clean and the overcrowding on trais is ridiculous, but it is the rudeness and arrogance of staff at Birmingham New Street which really annoys me.

Not really, besides the people and fares its not bad.Why not save money to going to the pump, and use it on a bus? This also helps the environment and for people that can't afford a car.
