Insert your addition to add to my compilation of things I have assessed from the lay persons here of the world, on Y!A that have been deemed to be telltale of a bad mommy, and children that are scarred for life and all of this Universe's eternity:

*Letting baby sleep in it's crib
*spanking
*saying NO
*punishments that involve physical exertion/exercise or work
*not breastfeeding longer than 1 year
*failure to co-sleep until said child is 5
*failure to feed said child all organic produce
*discipline/home training
*disciplining a child in public
*not crying when said child begins kindergarden
*if you were indeed happy to see your child begin growing up
*ever needing a break from your kids

_______________________ My mind goes blank. I think I may have listed them all, but I am certain I missed some. Please help me so I can properly annotate these deficiencies and create a checklist. Maybe I'll publish it to help mommies everywhere be better mommies. Including me.

wow Im sorry but I would say you have some very unrealistic expectations of being a mother. In todays society where it takes two working parents to provide just the basic essentials for their children, these ideas you have proposed are ludicrous. In general I understand the principles behind it, but that doesent mean it can be put into action. I stayed at home with my toddler until he was two, and it put us in a financial hardship that I am now paying for. But to me making sure I was there for him during that time was more important. It's very difficult to juggle the responsibilitys of being a parent when society itself sets the rules against you. And I must say you pretending to judge others as bad mothers because they cant live up to these expectations makes you a bad mommy that is teaching your own children the hypocricy of judgement. Good luck to you and your children

Why is failure to co-sleep bad? and why is needing a break from the kids bad? Parents need a sex life, and a break

*letting the baby cry instead of running to it's side at every little whimper
*telling your child to be quiet in church, movie, etc.
*setting a curfew for your child as they get older
*using (God forbid) cloth diapers
*not allowing your kids to run around in the department stores
*not giving in every time your child whines that they want something

I'm sure there are more.

*Not chewing up the child's food and then regurgitating it into their mouth till their 18.

*Not shaming them and telling them their feces is evil.

*Not letting them know they were born with orginal sin and no matter what they do, they're going to burn in hell for all eternity.

*Not killing thier beloved goldfish in front of thier eyes buy squeezing it when drunk and belligerent.

I'm a little confused. Is your list a list of things moms should do?

I do many of those things. If that is true, I must be a despicable mommy , and proud of it.

bad mommy: doesn't take care of herself; her world revolves around her children and she neglects taking care of herself.
