Is God specifically speaking of pro-creation between a husband and wife or does/can adultery mean more than this?

Marriage isn't just for pro-creation - it never was. It is an institution bringing a man & woman together, in love, to care for & serve each other until one's death. Sex (or lust) outside of marriage underminds this connection.
However, in recent generations, adultry has been extended to include any activity that underminds the marital relationship. This can include a drug or alcohol addiction, spousal & child abuse, uncontrollable gambling, etc.

Wouldn't adultery fall into the sneaking-around category? There are specific examples in the Bible where a wife allowed her husband to sleep with other women. (Abraham, for example). What about men who had multiple wives? Did they commit adultery?
I'm not advocating a return to those days; I'm just posing a question to help everyone think this through a bit. I believe adultery is cheating without your partner's consent. If your partner doesn't want you to be with another person, then you should respect that wish and abide by it. Marriage isn't only about what you want... its about giving to make the other person as happy as possible.

The bible says if you lust after someone in your heart then you have already committed adultery. So I would definitely say that it is more than extra-marital sex.

Adultery means having sex with anybody that you are not married to.

In the Old Testament, ery meant one man violating another man's property (his wife) by having 5ex with her. It did not include him doing it with an unmarried woman. Or two unmarried people. Christianity extended the definition of 5exual sins because it's anti-fun.

god doesnt care who you sleep with...but you wife will....especially if you get some slut pregnant
