well, personally, i believe that theres some higher power out there. however, i cant claim to have all the answers as to how to act, how to pray, what religion to belong to, etc.

BUT, i do feel that if there were no religions then we'd all have on less major thing to fight over, but there would still be greed and jealousy and anger out there. someone asked this kind of question yesterday, and i thought about it from the start of mankind.

if we could start over, at some point whoever was biggest and strongest would just take what he wanted from everyone else, and make himself the ruler. this would drive others away, and cause dissent among those who stayed. so, it seems to me that without religion, there would already be the cause for isolationism and tyranny, even amongst the simplest of tribes.

then, they'd start to create weapons to have an advantage over the stronger fighters, who'd create better weapons to get the advantage back. eventually, things wouldnt be too different than they are now.

its kinda sad, but i think human nature wont ever allow for complete peace. but, without religion, there would certainly be one less major fight going on.

No. In fact, without gods and religion the world would be far worse than it is. Despite the problems inherant in the world, it is the umbrella of religious belief, diverse as it is, that keep a lid on things. Can you imagine a world where, after deciding that all religion was a mistake, also stopped following the moral and ethical precepts of those beliefs because they no longer held to the religion they came from? Since most laws are founded on moral precepts that come from religious ideas (no killing, no stealing, etc.) people could, after casting aside their religion, cast aside EVERYTHING associated with it, every idea, every concept, every model of right and wrong. There would be wholesale slaughter, wars, crime, and devistation on a scale that even my imagination boggles at the idea. Maybe there will come a time when the world can live without religin, but mankind has not advanced morally, ethically, or philosophically to even consider that yet.

It is highly fashionable to blame religion for wars forgetting that Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam, Korean, Indo-China war and both World Wars which killed more than 100 million people, the attacks of Atilla the Hun or Genghis Khan had nothing to do with religion or the religious folks.

Religions have existed for centuries. People from many religions have lived together in peace and harmony for centuries also. The most infamous religion of today, Islam, had ruled vast regions including India, which still seems to have most of its Hindu religion in tact after a thousand years of Muslim rule.

What is all this blaming of religion? when true religion only brings peace to the hearts of those who adhere to them. Many people commit suicide when going gets tough if they do not have hope in God Almighty. You would very seldom find religious people killing themselves out of despair.

So, those who are reasonable and rational need to see that it is lack of God that is killing people, not the other way around. Stalin killed 20 million and Saddam killed a few million too, but the Ayatollahs or even Ben Laden can not even match George W. Bush in his killings of the innocent.

Only irresponsible, shallow people think religion is the reason for the killing. Was Pol Pot religious? Are the Maoists in various areas religious? Was the Shining Path Geurillas religious?

Communalists in India/Pakistan are not true representatives of their respective faiths in any case. They are the tools of democracies' deadly games, where some ruthless men use the blood of the innocent before elections to gain a few seats. Notice how the riots begin only before the election season. If you are wise, you will see the connection.

May the Lord bring the truth out so everyone can see it. Amen

It depend on how ppl think abt each n every religion in the world. So if u think it is bad then it is bad to u n if u think it is good then it is good to u.

this is comparable to asking could the international be a extra appropriate place if foreign places money replaced into by no skill invented. there is not any one basic answer, faith has fostered and the two hampered progression in the process the centuries. religions has been a savior of a few persons and the death of others. faith has been used and abused. could the international be extra appropriate? I doubt it. it may be distinctive - confident... yet extra appropriate??? Nah! without or with faith human nature is an identical - and we'd have discovered yet otherwise to screw issues up.

Without religions, world will be in havoc, people living without morals, human would behave like animals i.e. incest etc. Religions helps human to create civilisations. However, some people misinterprete the teachings of their religion or some people interpret for their own benefit. All religions want human to live in peace. Even of they got into war, there are certain rules to be followed.

I, personally, am a spiritual Christian. However, I do believe in what John Lennon said: If there were no religions, there wouldn't be so many wars. As strange as it sounds, people commit sins to show loyalty to their religion. Crusades? Holy war. Lebanon/Israel? Holy war. Iraq? Holy war.

If I could give up my ticket in to eternal salvation for all the pain and suffering the victims of "religious attacks", I would.

I think so, I posed a question about people believing that morality didn't exist before a bible. And it did, we are born to make our own decisions, and I think we are at an age that we can be without religions pulling the strings of our life.

The world is already without god and gods. Always was.
Now if we can get rid of religions we can get rid of the primary way the elites manipulate the masses to kill each other for their overlord's greed. We can also free up a lot of money and talent to do things that improve humanity's situation.
