It's a shame she is losing such an important tooth in her mouth. Sad really. Start thinking of how you will replace it in the future such as bridgework, implant, etc. Teeth shift over time, so replacement is necessary. Also ask the dentist if bone grafting is recommended in this situation. It will help maintain some of the bone around the site for future health. Recovery time varies, but doubtful she'll be uncomfortable for long. Stick with soft, cool, tender foods and follow the dentists instructions, and she'll be fine. Good luck, and make sure to take necessary steps to improve her home care routine to save the others.

once again please refer to the answer in the other question u posted. Bioxin XL or is it Biaxin XL, the latter is an antibiotic which u give after a tooth extraction. Once again I suggest u find out if the tooth can be saved rather than pulling it out.
For the first 24 hrs. I suggest u give her only cold liquids. absolutely no solids. preferabley Icecreams, cold milk or juice.
No rinsing or gargling and no brushing for the first 24 hrs.
next day on start brushing-she needs to keep her mouth clean.... only soft brushingg at the extraction site.
Light gargling is ok.... but still no hot foods until after 3 days. I prescribe Oxyfresh gel to my patients. it is an over the counter gel. once she is home just apply an ample quantity of the gel at the extraction site 4 times a day after food... the socket is seen to heal fast.

She does not need to go 24 hours without brushing, I just would not brush that area until the next day, but still very gently. Warm salt water rinses. Do not drink through a straw as this could disrupt the blood clot leading to dry socket, NOT FUN. Do not do any forceful spitting, if she must spit, lean over sink and just let saliva run out. Good luck.

Stock up on jello, mashed potatoes and gravy, and drink alot of fluids.
Whatever infections might occur following the extraction, under NO circumstances should the drug Augminton be taken. Augminton is a bad drug that often leaves people with a case of the hives.

Use caution while eating, rinse her mouth several times a day and have the pain medication ready. She should be feeling pretty good after a few days.
