Ok I have been looking for performance upgrades for my 1999 Camry but since I have a four cylinder its been pretty hard. The only thing I have found is a universal supercharger but I cannot find a intake manifold or any headers or an exhaust system specific for my vehicle. So I was thinking of getting a whole new engine put in but I do not know if it will fit or will just not match my camry so I need advice on a engine I can swap in my car.

Sure you can. No problem, piece of cake! You do have your own metal shop or access to one and you have tons of fabrication, welding, and metal cutting experience, right? No? Don't worry, then you must have a giagantic bank account to pay someone to do this for you then, right? uhm no? Then you are SOL.

This can be done, but EVERYthing would have to be fabricated from scratch. And I do mean everything. You'll have to make everything from engine brackets to an exhaust. No problem if you konw what you are doing or can stroke a check to pay someone 20-40/hour to do it, but since you said you couldn't find headers or an exhaust for your previous idea, I have an idea that you are not quite this advanced or have that kind of disposable income lying around.

You could put that engine in your car the problem you will run into is that there are no conversion parts available for it. You would need to swap out the whole drive train and it will be very difficult and near impossible with a boatload of money. You would spend more money doing that than buying a 2005 Chevy Corvette. If you really wanted to pursue it you will need to find some body that works with metal and is cable of custom fabrication. You will need to change all the mounts and many other parts as well as create new ones.Your best bet is to find a 6 cylinder motor from a Camry I think 1998-2001 are the same or darn close enough. Than I would rebuilt it. Boar out the cylinders look into either a supercharger or a turbo. Also try to convert the vehicle over to a standard transmission and look to find a transmission shop that would be able to change the gear ratio. Don't forget the other easier things like cold air intakes, and exhaust modifications and you might be able to get a computer module.Good luck it should be a fun project.

Your best bet would be to take a V6 Camry drivetrain and swap it in. The Supra inline six isn't going to fit without converting it to rear wheel drive and hacking out most of the firewall.

if u're asking this question no u can't.. for one thing if u're asking this question u dunno anything about switching engines and this task is a very hard one.. u gonna have to remove the whole engine and drivetrain n everything n then start from scratch n a turbo won't fit in a camry's chassis.. so in the end it won't work.. best shot is to go find a v6 for a sedan.. maybe a camry v6..
