For my sweetie Jack Russell Dixie I had a birthday party for her and some of her little friends from the neighborhood. We had a "cake" made from bread and peanute butter and used jelly to write happy birthday. And the frosty paws ice cream for dogs. They loved it. She was so happy. I miss her so much she died on December 29. Hit by a car. :( But now 9 months later I've just gotten a little rat terrier and she is so sweet. I can't wait for our sweet memories to begin.

Have you tried Frosty Paws for your dog? I'm not sure if they have this product where you live but where I am it can be found in most grocery stores. It is found in the ice cream section (usually at the far end - - speciality items) and is called ice cream for dogs although there is no actually dairy products in the stuff. All I know is that it looks like ice cream (in a single serving cup), smells like ice cream and that all the dogs I know LOVE IT. It is a special treat for our little one and it is ALWAYS at the puppy parties I've been too.
Happy birthday to your little one.

I had 2nd birthday party for my cats. I only gave them canned food, I didn't make them a cake to eat. I made a pie and put candles in it and sat them by it and took pictures (they came out really good) but they didn't eat it. I got them presents and they helped open them - they love the tissue paper more than the toys they got!!
I don't think its healthy to give them sweets, but i guess its up to your dog! No chocolate though.
Happy Birthday to your baby!

Try taking some of your dogs biskets and frosting them with peanut butter, then add some sprinkles! The dogs love them! Switch some of the biskets for real cookies and it looks like your all eating the same thing! I will be having these at my toy Poddles 3rd party in December. Good luck at congrats By the way my dog loves raw veggies, so be creative!

Great a doggie birthday party :) I give them to my dogs too.
I make a plain simple white cake with white frosting. If only the dogs will be eating it you can decorate it with doggie treats. I also give them plain vanilla ice cream or plain frozen yogurt.
