Help! MY dog threw up 6 times last night and we put her outside, she had been playing very hard and eating very fast. This morning she is still puking up stomach acid. What should I do? I'd hate to take her to the vet and pay 80 dollars for him to say "keep an eye on her".

OK most of you had very good anwers. I did take her to the vet. They ran 175 dollars worth of tests and told me that she had an upset stomach and to "watch her". Just what i figured :-( Thanks for all the concern.. also FYI they told me dehidration will not be an issue for just 24 hours. They said DO NOT give her water but just let her fast and let her stomach settle.
Thanks again for all the responces. (except Julien L - not helpful) - btw 80 dollars is not too much for the dog, its too much to waste to find out what I already know. I'd gladly spend 800 dollars if it would actually help.
Anyway thanks again to every one else!

Try giving her an antacid, or check in her mouth to see if maybe she has something tickling the back of her throat, such as a string that could be causing her gag reflex, or if she was eating very fast, she could have scratched the back of her throat and everytime she throws up it just causes more aggravation. The other thing is depending on how old she is (i.e., puppy). She might eat real fast if you only put food down for her and not leave some in a dish for her all the time. She feels that she better eat fast or it will be gone, that could cause this.
The other thing, after you have given her antacid and it doesn't help, then she may have gotten into something that is making her sick. You might want to check around to see if she had gotten into anything.

Well I hope your puppy is more than a month old. You should not take puppies anywhere until they have some shots and the sick puppies could indeed have Parvo, coccidia, Camphylobactor or any number of icky things. If you puppy eats some things but then pukes and is NOT pooping - may have a blockage - some times they work out - sometimes they need surgery. Assuming you are real and not a troll there are a lot of things that your puppy has access to that are bad for it.

I'd get her to the vet...If he's is one who says "keep an eye on her", I'd find a different vet. Mine is great and would put my mind at ease by helping her problem...running tests or prescribing something for her. You've got to be careful she doesn't get dehydrated also from all the vomiting. Did she eat something she shouldn't have? I almost lost one of mine - she got into some bratwurst that had fallen off the grill. We almost lost her. So I say, get her to a vet...or at least call and ask them for a home remedy.

Your dog may have caught a virus. A vet may give her an injection of vitamins to help her pull through but most importantly you need to keep her well hydrated. Change her water bowl often and encourage her to drink as often as possible.

Your dog has probably been poisoned. Make sure she is getting enough water. If not, she will dehydrate quickly and will have to go to the Vet for an IV. So, if you love your dog, at least call your Vet and get his/her opinion.

Let your dog out to eat some grass. He will threw it up,but it should settle his stomach. You can feed him a few spoon fulls of yogurt.and that has worked for my dogs. If none of this works I would take him to the vet. Good Luck!!

Take your dog to the vet. If nothing else, she's very dehydrated. If she's been poisoned, there is a definite need for IMMEDIATE medical attention. Don't risk her life.

Take her to the vet. She could have parvo, and it will kill her without proper care. Only a vet can tell you what is wrong.
