Yay finally a question I know almost everything about! Ok, what I am about to write is what WE believe. I'm not asking you to believe it, im just telling you what it is, since you asked.

Sometime in the early 1800's a guy named Joeseph Smith was debating about what church he should join. so he prayed about it, and the father and the son appeared to him. he got instructions to found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. because of his claims to his vision, he came under much fire. he and the rest of the early church had to move west, after being attack by mobs. the government was no protection, despite religeous freedom promises. in fact, one state had a bounty on mormon heads. they finally settled down in salt lake city, which is why 80% of the population there is mormon. but before all that moving happend, he was shown the location of golden plates. now, keep in mind he was like 16 when all this happend. on it were written the records of ancient civilizations that were in the early americas. he translated it and thats what the Book of Mormon is. (mormon was a war general and one of many people to make entries into it). many people misunderstand the standards. theres a thing called the word of wisdom, which prohibits things like coffee, tea, or alcohol. contrary to popular beliefs, and what textbooks list, mormons cannot have multiple wives. pornography, adultury, and sex prior to marriage are all high offenses.

i highly reccomend you attend the hill camorah pageant in palmyra ny next summer. i hope this clears things up, if you have any questions feel free to email me at etadpole23_2@yahoo.com

"we believe", as in your articles of faith.

I know you are told what HAVE to believe. Don't Mormons have to learn all 15 Articles OF Faith by the time they are 12 years old? I have heard that the Mormons are skilled at brainwashing and their leaders start their indoctrination early.

"I believe" the LDS people should search their own church history before believing that's the Gospel needed to be restored by Joseph Smith. I do not understand why it needed restoring?

Or why they claim they are the only true church.

The Mormon teachings go deep into some really weird teachings.
They believe a man can someday become a god and have many wives on the other side.

Check out the true history of Joseph Smith, folks.
There are things you really need to know and it
CAN not be found in your church lessons manuals
but it can be found on the Internet.

Oh, I forgot ! Mormons are not allowed to.do so.
This is the true sign of being a cult, I have read.

If you honestly want to know about the Saints of the Latter Days, then, in all fairness I can only suggest that you check with them.

I always say, "Don't ask about Catholicism from those who hate the Catholic Church." Now the shoe is on the other foot and this is the only honest answer I can offer you. Ask the Mormons...

Joseph Smith was very confused as to wich church to join, so he went itno the woods to be by himself and prayed. he prayed unto the heavenly father with all of his might, mind and soul. The lord appeard onto him and told him to join none of them. The lord told Josheph where to find the plates and gave him the power to translate them. We beleive that the father is all mighty and through his only begotten son that the worlds were made and would be saved. If you're truely wanting dirrect answers look up the missionaries for the church of JESUS CHRIST of later-day saints.

Early 1820, Joseph Smith Jr. was wondering what church was Christs church and which one to join. One day he was reading in James 1:5, "If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liverally, and ubpbraideth not; and it shall be given him." No passage had more power to any man than that passage at that time. He thought about that scripture for many days, finally he decided to do what James said to do, so one day in 1820 you had picked out a spot where he would go. As soon as he arrived he began to say his very first vocal prayer. Shortly, after he started he was seized by some invisible force that seemed to bind him trying to get him to stop praying, Joseph refused to give up and long last Joseph was ready to give up and be destroyed, when a piller of light appeared directly above him the brightness was that above the sun at noon day. As soon as Joseph was able to get control of himself. He got up and he saw two persons standing who's glory was beyond all description.

The first person calling him by name said, "Joseph, this is my beloved son, here him." Joseph's desire to know which of the churches is true and which one he should join when Christ said, "You must join none of them, for they were all wrong: and the Personage who addressed me said that all of there creeds were an abomination in his sight that those professors were all corrupt; that: "they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but htey deny the power thereof."

He was again forbade to join any of them. At that time Joseph Smith knew more about the nature of the God head then all the world did.

Three years later He had his famous visits from the Angel Moroni, Moroni told him of some plates that were buried that contained the record of some fallen people. He was forbidden to take them for four years, after that four years, Joseph received the Gold plates which he translated the Book of Mormon from.

After Joseph's martyrdom the Saints were forced from their home in the United States, they found a home in the great Salt Lake Valley, where our headquartes remains even unto this day. One more thing, We haven't practiced polygamy in over a hundred years. Our church was organized April 6, 1830.

Some nut named Joseph Smith wrote the entire religion from the confines of his prison cell in 1863. He did this because he wanted to show the judge he had found god, and was a prophet, so he could be released. It worked, however, now he's got a following.
