I have so much stuff that I can't put things away anymore.
I realize how wasteful and silly this is so I am opening up an Ebay store and unloading a lot of it.

Not really. I am fairly conservative with my money but there are areas that I like to indulge in. I like reference books (and I actively use them daily), perennials and bushes for our yard (they come back every year), and occasionally I like to stock up on art supplies that we use for entertainment in the winter. I only buy things for my home that are "favorites". I try to pick apart every item to see what I can find wrong with it. If I can't pick it apart, I buy it. Many times I will decide to think about it for a few days and if I find that I am constantly going back to visit the item, I know it will be a favorite if I purchase it. Being practical and picky saves me money and storage space and time cleaning things that I really don't want or need. I know that no material item will give me continued happiness. Happiness is something that I can choose regardless of what I possess or do not possess.

Interesting that you would put this question under Religion. If you worship a belonging .. that can become idol worship and if you are a Spiritual person at heart, yes..that can make you ill of conscious. However..there is nothing wrong with rewarding yourself iwth something when you deserve it. If your life is cluttered with useless things, Good Will will sure take it off your hands and give their workers something to clean, fix, and sale. In a way..you become an employer and the circle of Life keeps going!
Makes ya kind of glad you are a spend-thrift, huh?

No, I really don't feel sick at all because I don't have that much stuff.
If you want to get organized in your life, start your spring cleaning now and donate to charity groups like goodwill. Take the tax deductions and start to feel better about yourself and your surroundings. That way you can also make others feel better too, because they'll be finding your stuff in the stores at really good prices that they can afford and can enrich their own lives.'

Not at all. In fact if it wasn't for the fact that I'm saving stuff for my sons, I would probably give it all away.

Yes, I do. And it's best for you if you give some to your friends as a gift or in charity

Naw, I live in very spartan conditions. I have no guilty conscience about owning too much because I'm desperately poor. :)
