The evil is in the intent of the purpose not that scientists built the technology. You can build anything and depending on whose hands it falls into will depend on if something is used for good or for evil.

German scientists in Nazi Germany were not allowed to have a moral conscious nor walk away from what they were doing.. they would have been killed by their own for doing so. They were cogs in a machine.

Many people do not know about Operation Paperclip. That the US brought these scientists out of Germany with the intent on debriefing them, learning some secrets and then sending them back to Germany. It was the US War Dept that decided to keep the scientists here to work on technology for America.

In either situation the scientists were being used and that is what is evil if you'd like to state it that way.. I think more perhaps unethical. Human beings are not property to be used by another.

Chuck, you are really on a roll here.
The rocket scientists were not "evil" - they were goal driven. They did not launch the rockets at London - the military types did that.
Science is neither good nor evil. It is the system of discovering truth. The uses to which that truth is put represent "free will" on the part of the users.

Werner von Braun. He aimed for the stars...and hit London.

Operation Paperclip was terrible, as sworn nazis came to America to help us beat the Russians.

The scientists would say, they did what they did for their country. But at what human costs?

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
