Where in my question about my question about Jesus did I take a position or make a statement?

Do people get what yahoo answers is, a person asks a question to get opinions views facts, not to make a statement?

Where in the above question did I make the statement that Jesus is evil? Where in the original question did I make that statement?

I think you may be too concerned with others' concerns about your concerns.

What kind of a question is your question about your question of the question about Jesus?

People are too opinionated to be objectionable at times.

To answer your last 2 statements, I did not perceive that you made the statement that Jesus is evil....The original question did not infer the fact that you were insinuating that he was evil.

Some people just don't comprehend SIMPLE English.

They made you inquisitive statement out to be much more than it actually was.

They were on the defense.. As Jesus would say, "forgive them father for they know not what they do".

I remember that from when I was ten years old...

Hi,

In your original question, you're right in that you made no argument for Jesus being evil. If we go into the question and analyze it, which we can do here, since you seem to want to do that, logically, there are two presuppositions. The first presupposition in your question is that Jesus exists. Not "existed", because then the question would have needed to say, "Was Jesus evil?" The second logical presupposition is that it is possible for Jesus to have qualities such as evil ascribed to him.

(If this isn't making sense to you, think about asking a question like "Is black white?" Part of the nature of black is that it is not white, so if you were to ask this question, it'd be a little weird, because you'd be presupposing something about the nature of black (that it could be white) that isn't generally agreed upon.)

So, although we don't have any arguments as they're traditionally considered to be in your question, we do have two presuppositions. And since the subject is Jesus, people tend to have very strong opinions and also be very sensitive to presuppositions about the nature of Jesus.

Looking at your responses, it looks like you got a couple of responses that challenged your first presupposition--that Jesus exists. So you have a couple of people saying, no, he can't be evil because he doesn't exist. Fair enough. But it looks like the majority take issue with your second presupposition, which is that it is possible for Jesus to be evil. A lot of people hold very clearly defined mental definitions of Jesus in which he is certain things (divine, a prophet, a saviour, etc.) that are fundamentally incompatible with his being other things (evil). So a lot of your reactions seem to consist of people accessing their categorical idea of Jesus and getting upset because your logical presupposition that Jesus could be evil is completely at odds with their belief that Jesus is certain other things which make it impossible for him to be evil.

So--questions and logic are tricky things. You didn't make an argument or a statement, and I congratulate you for that (a much better question than "Why are people so dumb these days?"), but your question did have two logical presuppositions that it looks like people took offense to.

And generally, no, a lot of people seem to use Yahoo! answers for their own nefarious purposes, and sometimes it is difficult actually getting reasonable answers to questions.

Good luck! I'm still not entirely sure why you want to know the answer to your original question, but good luck with that.

I like it.
Stand behind a question mark and fire a rocket at Jesus then try to validate your position by claiming to be an innocent victim. I love it. You should go hang out in Lebanon. There is a lot more people with the same idea.

:) That was fun.
God bless you anyway.

Lots of people make statements on here instead of questions cause their incompetent. No you did not make a statement you did ask a question. However when you look at it from their point of view Im sure it seemed to them like you implied it so they got offend or was just offend cause you had to ask.

You made your position about Jesus when you posted that question about Him. Yahoo answers is to ask a question and have it answered by others. But you are asking questions that you know without a doubt will offend the Christians here. If you believed in Jesus, you would not have posted that question against Him.

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

You haven't. It is how some chose to perceive the question because of their own built in bias. You did not make an outright statement. You did nothing wrong.

I notice when it comes to religion, people on panels are like that. You get a lot of young people or non-religious people. Religion is a tricky discussion and should be tread on lightly. And look at what you asked. Is he evil? What do you think people will say?

Well, from what I learnt at school a question has a subject, a verb and ends with a question mark. So I guess you just asked a question, indeed.

I guess now you know how Jesus feels when this kind of thing happens to Him.
